Aussie Pride

They call it Aussie pride
But it's not in any book
Its green and gold in color
And it's everywhere you look1

You'll hear it talked about
All around the world
By every Aussie bloke
And all the Aussie girls2

It dwells within their hearts
It fills their waking thoughts
When Australia's on the stage
It's the first thing that we're taught3

You can cheer amongst the crowd
Yell with all the rest
Deep within our souls
We feel we are the best4

No matter what the outcome
They'll always be 'true blue'
The lads that took the world to task
The mighty Socceroo's!!5

Author notes

Just a 'true blue' Aussie feeling very proud of our boys in Germany. Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi!!!

Please tell me what you think

    Pride!

How I wish I could read something like this from my own country! Pride is a woderful thing and you expressed it very well!

It's nice to see a poem that isn't gloom and doom but full of -- what else?-- Pride.

    Poem

This isn't really a story, so was surprised to find a poem here at storywrite. That said, I thought you did a good job with this bit of poetry. Your rhyme was well done, I liked the timely nature of the subject and the whole thing was quite clever.
