Trinity (Prologue)

I sighed and fell back onto my pillow, pulling my blankets over my head, I laughed at the pathetic pattern on my bed clothes, my parents must think I’m still three years old, ha, it wouldn’t surprise me, it’s not like they know shit about me anyway. “Great” I said to myself, now I’m laughing. Some counselor told me a couple of years ago that my fits of laughter while I am crying are caused by my subconscious not accepting the issues in my life. I didn’t take her seriously, shortly after; she accused me of being high on Eccies anyway so go figure. I hastily wiped away a stray tear that had found it’s way from my eye down to my lips without my noticing. I could hear the yelling from downstairs. I shoved my pillow over my face to try and block out the noise, it is not like them fighting actually bothered me, I was just sick and tired of the constant noise. It didn’t work; I could still hear the yells and occasional thumps of various family heirlooms hitting the walls as they missed their targets. I hauled myself out of bed and dragged my self over to the door. I threw it open. “Hey mum, dad” I said in the sweetest voice I could muster. The noise stopped. “What is it honey” I heard mum call through clenched teeth. I grinned, “I have a suggestion, why don’t you fucking knock each other out! Sound good?” I slammed the door without waiting for a response and walked over to my CD player, Pressing play and turning the volume knob up so high that the sounds of Eskimo Joe felt like it was going to shatter the windows. I lay down on my bed again, and cried. 1
