The Unlucky Me - Chapter 3

I knew Shane brought his board and that’s why I want to go to the skate park.1

We both walk there…its about 4 blocks away from my house. When we get there I see a lot of people there. I was kinda afraid cause I’m not use to hanging out with a lot of people. 2

Shane must of seen some different look on my face cause he says “Hey..its ok. These guys are cool. They like me so they’ll definitely like you.” and then he smiles at me. I smile back3

“Hey Shane whats up buddy?” says some guy4

“Not much.” Shane says. 5

“Who this?” they guy asks. 6

“Oh…Dylan this is Ginny……Ginny this is Dylan.” Shane says. 7

“Whats up Ginny?” Dylan says. 8

“Nothing. Just hanging out.” I say. Dylan nods and skates away. 9

Shane was right. No one picked on me or anything and for once I felt wanted. It was awesome. 10

After about 2 hours we leave to go buy something to eat and drink.11

We walk a small gas station/store called Uni-Mart. We walk in and grab a 2 litter of Mountain Dew and two slices of pizza, pay and leave. We sit out on the curb eating our pizza. 12

“What do u want to do now?” I ask13

“I dunno. You wanna go back to your house for a while?” he says14

“Sure” I say. 15

On our way back to my house Shane asked me “So. Are you gonna miss me?”16

‘Duhh” I say17

“Aww…..I’m gonna miss you too Gin” 18

I smile at him and he smiles back. 19

There was an about 5 minute silence then Shane says “So….what are you gonna do without me?”20

“I dunno. Its not like I have any other friends” I say. 21

Shane looks at me with a sympathetic look in his eyes22

“Awww Gin. Its ok. I will be back before you know it. And I PROMISE that when I get home we will spend as much time together as possible ok?”23

“Ok” is all I say. 24

I feel tears swell up in my eyes and I hold them back. A couple slip out but I wipe them away fiercely. 25

When we get to my house Karley is sitting in the living room reading. 26

“Hi. How was your day guys?” She asks taking off her reading glasses. 27

“Ok” I say. 28

“Jimmy called while you were gone and he says hi” she says. 29

“Cool” I say. 30

I sit on the couch and Shane sits next to me. 31

“Can you two keep a secret?” Karley says after a small silence. 32

“Yeah” me and Shane say at the same time. 33

“Jimmy asked me to marry him and……….I said yes” she says. 34

“OH MY GOD!!” I yell getting up. 35

I run over to her and give her a big hug. 36

“You wanna see the ring?” she asks. 37

“Yeah” I say. 38

She pulls it out of her pants pocket and hands it to me. I examine it for about 2 minutes. 39

“Its beautiful” I say finally. 40

It had a diamond in the middle and two pink stones on each side of the diamond.41

I hand it back to her. She puts it on her finger and looks up at me and smiles. I give her another hug and apologize again for last night. 42

“Oh hun. Its ok. I know I kinda went crazy in this house when I was your age too.” she says. 43

I look at Shane who is staring at the floor. 44

“Shane” I say45

He jumps at the sound of his name. He looks at me. We stare at each other for a while and then I break it by saying “So what happens if you meet someone down there?”46

“What do you mean?” Shane says with a confused look on his face. 47

“What if you meet a girl down there?”48

“Oh. Well I probably will. But I don’t care. I’m not getting involved with any of those girls down there. It will be too complicated. I’ll probably just make friends” He says. 49

“Oh” I say sitting down next to him again. 50

“Look Gin. You know no other girl or guy can replace you. You are my best friend. My sister. Ya know that right?” he says looking at me with big eyes. 51

“Yeah.” I say feeling tears coming again. I curse under my breath. 52

“I have to go to the bathroom.” I say53

I walk upstairs and into the bathroom, close the door and lock it. I stand in front of the mirror and watch the tears run down my face. I wipe them away and walk over to the closet. 54

I open the door and find my special box full of “goodies.” It’s a box that has a couple of razors in it, gauze and special tape. 55

I grab one out and sit down on the side of the tub. I roll up my pants and look for a good place. I take the razor and glide it across my leg. Blood immediately coming to the surface in bubbles. I repeat this process two more times each time pushing harder. Then I take a tissue and wipe the blood away, wincing at the sharp pain in my leg. 56

I walk over to the closet and grab the box. I sit back down and wipe more blood away. I grab some gauze and tape and bandage the three cuts up. After I’m done I roll my pants back down and put the box back. 57

I walk to the door and open it and practically jump out of my skin. 58

“What where you doing in there?” asks Shane. 59

“Uhh….going pee” I say60

“Yeah ok. I didn’t hear the toilet flush. “61

“Oh yeah. Oops.” I say I walk back in the bathroom and flush the toilet. 62

“Plus it wouldn’t have taken that long.” He says. 63

“Who cares Shane. God. Since when did you become my mom” I say harshly. 64

“I…..I……I was just wondering” he says. 65

“Well stop cause its none of your business.” I say66

He looks at me with worried eyes. I push past him and into my room. I lay down on my bed and stare at the ceiling. 67

“I’m leaving soon” Shane says walking in. 68

“Ok” I say69

“You know what Gin. You’re a real bitch sometimes.” Shane says. 70

I sit up and glare at him. He stares at the ground. 71

“Get the fuck out” I say72

“But..” he says.73

“I said get the fuck out” I yell this time. 74

He looks at me with a look of shock, worry and terror on his face. Then he walks out. 75
