The Brat Prince

The Brat princess that’s what my fellow immortals call me. But this story is not about just me, no, this story is also about my prince. The prince of darkness, the wolf killer, the infamous, Kiesh de Valos himself. Everybody knows the stories. The one’s written supposedly by Anne Thorne, you know the type: seductive, tantalizing, romantic, total Dracula stories right? Wrong. What if I told you that the stories are true? That the Brat Prince himself resides right here in America. What if I told you he lived in Louisiana? Prowled for mortals in the very streets you walk across every day of your life? What if I could tell you that I am his mistress? Would you believe me? Or would you cast me down with all the other demons of this world? Listen to me now, and heed me well. This is a true story and this is who I am. Queen of the night, mistress of the very darkness you mortals try to hide within yourselves…1

It was three years ago almost to the day, when I discovered him, I was in my basement flipping through the channels, looking for something that might be good to watch then right before my eyes on the screen, and there he was the man of my dreams. Yes Kiesh … Only this was his role player … Thomas Goring. Interesting man to say the least… a man with no compassion for mortal life… the villain in this sad story. I only caught half of the show so I decided to find the movie and as soon as the sun set the very next night I was off to find the movie that had captivated me so. Once I watched the whole thing I loved it there is no other words for it simply loved it the plot line was insatiable, the characters undeniable. I watched it over and over agian... I couldn't get enough of it, the sheer brillance of the people, and the settings around them thrilled me and filled me with terror never felt before. No, not terror, amazment. The thought that right before my eyes were immortals, and not only that these wernt the vampires that I had grown up with, they had reflections, wore crosses, could hold garlic in their hands! Truly amazing, these creatures were to me, and soon I had all the books, but my favorite was Kiesh’s Biography, I still carrie it around with me no matter where I went. 2

It seemed almost comforting to read his writing and to see how had changed from the beginning book, changed from the beginning storie, from the villian of the story to something more…. Compassionate. He grew to love mortals because that’s what they were… human…. You see my readers that’s what makes us so wonderful to the immortals not just vampires but angels, demons and even ghosts that we are these creatures, and still today the ignorance of the common man never cieses to amaze me, darlings treasure your lifes. Never stop living the wonderful thing called life. Yes, your heart breaks, yes your fellow man gets tempted and maybe… if he’s concieted enough to bretray you, go on you don’t need demons like that in your life… learn to love the people that betray you… you say why… I say why not? If your intellegent enough to know that they are human and that you’re the one to choose whether or not to condem them. Then surely your intellegent enough to forgive them and not let it bother you and effect the love in which you have towards others. That’s just my view of things take it or leave it….3

Soon enough I became infatuated with it. The thought of living forever, no matter what the cost. Kiesh made it quite clear in all of his books that “going vamp” was not the way to go… instead he qued in on what we as humans should cherish because he never had that lugusury. He was forced into immortality by his maker and ever since he has made it clear that anybody who he wants will have a choice in the matter but I don’t know how can you reist him? His charm and his beauty, his elegance and his sofistication. He’s wonderful need I say more?
