Broken,but Never Forgotten

You kneel before me with a box in your left hand. My hand is in your other hand. You look at me pleadingly. This is your answer to out latest fight, but nothing can make me forget. You ripped my heart out and ripped it to pieces, with every kiss and embrace you gaver her. You say you're sorry, but I can't forgive you. Too many times I have heard those words. No longer can I take it. Another sorry would be my death, but living without you wouldn't be a life worth living.1

Tears run shamelessly down my cheeks. I can see the unshed tears in your eyes too. Your hands start to tremble and you voice your concern by pleading me to forgive you. I slowly shake my head, not trusting my voice. I close my eyes to the image of you, down on your knees broken. I walk away not knowing if I made the right choice.2

Twenty years later and I have never loved another. You were the only to get past the walls around my heart. You were the only one that could melt my heart with a look or simple words. You were the only one that could make my heart swell with love as I gazed upon your beautiful face. You were the only one that could make my heart break in two.
