-Daylights End- Saga of time 2

Noise. To much noise.
Her eyes snapped open in the darkness. Struggling, she pushed at the blankets, twisted round her slight frame. Cursing, she found her head pinned down; leaning on the ends of crimson hair. A soft thud was heard, instinctively she went tense. Mind flittering like a humming bird.
“Shhh.” The voice was quiet, rasping.
Relaxing slightly, she looked up, trying to distinguish shape against the change in light.
“Myoku? What’s going on? What’s happening?”
She could feel the blankets being untangled; pushing herself up, she grabbed a set of tattered boots.
“There isn’t time. We must leave. Now.” A large flash lit up the sky, fading fast. In that instant she could see the person before her. Jet-black hair like her fathers, but un streaked by grey. Cold eyes, staring into her own. There was worry in his look.
Running blindly, through the long grass, she feared several times she’d lost him. Only to be corrected several seconds later, by a tap on the shoulder.
Smoke blew strongly on the wind. Coming to a stop, she turned round, peering into the shadows. “Myoku?” Her voice sounded worried, even to her own ears. The same thrumming sound as earlier filled the air. Slowly it grew louder. And louder. She turned her eyes to the sky. It was practically deafening, even yelling she couldn’t hear herself. “Get down!” Suddenly she was knocked to the ground. Struggling at first, she quickly went still. Something large and wide swept overhead, ruffling the long grass. She held her breath. The world seemed to stop. The noise blocked out everything.
Then it passed. Getting up shakily, it took a few minutes to get her ears to stop ringing. The moon came out from behind the clouds, the familiar red haze bathing the land the same. In it’s light she could make him out, tall slightly intimidating. Without a word she followed him into the shadows, the black trees casting weird shapes along the ground.
After along time of silence, a light appeared up ahead. It was bright, flickering against branches. A smile crept across her face, this was familiar since childhood! Spurred on to greater efforts, she raced against her aligh.
