Waking Dreams

I am asleep. The night is thick and a little cold. I’m alone on the roof of the shed. Dreams flit in and out of focus, music pulsing through my life.
I roll over in the sleeping bag and my face touches the cool metal of the roof. I open my eyes the sky will soon be turning gray. I’m alone in the wilderness away from life, away from myself, I’m barely awake. 1

and that is when you come. 2

Reaching through the haze in my mind pushing the hair out of my face with a finger tip, skin caressing my skin, my eyes are closed I think I must be dreaming your so close, too close, my body is having fits. You look at me for a moment hating to wake me up I look so beautiful lying there all tousled from sleep, you are about to leave but decide to give me one kiss. You kneel down on the roof getting really close to me leaning on one arm to reach over, you smile looking at me, your face inches from my own and you lightly brush your lips across mine but I am only half asleep and my hand reaches for your neck and I pull you a little closer kissing you properly and long, letting my tongue explore you….. My eyes open to drink you in, and you dissolve into the air like pixie dust sparkling away on the first ray of dawn light.
Leaving me gasping for breath and alone with my ache.
