My Life With The Dog-Persons
I am an animal lover; of dogs in particular. At this writing, I have three very spoiled dog-persons living or I shall I say, running my house. They determine when I rest, how much I eat, and how much exercise I get. Tazzie is an 85-pound rottie whose main mission in life is to love me and, to eat. lots. She eats her own, her yard mate’s, and the little gremlin’s who joined us recently. Her yard mate is Kane. Kane is a 100-pound male rottie. Unfortunately Kane is not a very smart dog but he is loving and affectionately knocks me over with his tail every chance he gets. After finding myself on the ground, Kane takes this opportunity to sit on me and try to lick me clean. The exercise comes in while I wrestle myself out from under him. If I decide to rest and enjoy my backyard swing, they join me. I can imagine what the neighbors think when they see 185 pounds of rottie sharing that swing. Ofcourse, they may only see the dog-persons because I am buried under them.
Now, we come to the gremlin. The gremlin’s name is Belle. She is about 5 pounds of terrier-benji dog mix. She has extended radar ears, which seem to turn on their own accord to any sound no matter the time day and night. Accompanying their turns is a very shrill bark that belies her small stature. She also has the ability to jump high enough to attach her teeth to the rear of my britches. Now, I am 5’9" tall so that is a mighty jump. I am not looking forward to the day she manages to get over the baby gates I installed to protect the rest of my house from her puppy teeth. Belle also has one more talent. She can run faster than the wind for hours at a time. She normally uses this talent when I am in a hurry to get somewhere. At which point, you may be able to enjoy the site of a maniac dog-person owner running not quite as fast as the wind chasing a little gremlin dog until she circles around back to the house and waits for me.
You may not think that all this is worth owning dog-persons but the truth is, I love them. They bring me hours of unmeasureable joy and entertainment. They keep me from eating too much as they always seem to help me eat mine. They make sure I get my heart rate up for extended periods of time and keep me from wasting my time sleeping. I am their favorite person. And have no doubts, they are my favorite dog-persons. Everyone should have a few running their house for them too.

Reminds me of my friend Karina's dogs, Tigger and Mariah. They are greyhounds, and Tigger used to be a champion racer--she got them from thegreyhound rescue shelter. They love to lick spaghetti sauce off of plates, play chase games and fetch. I'm always glad to see them when we visit Karina for roleplay gaming.

Wonderful!
Your story brings back happy memories of my dog-persons that have been in my life. I only have cats now. I miss being greeted by a dog-person when I come home. There is no one demanding to be played with or to go for a walk now.~Elizabeth~ -
