What You Want?

Ashlyn was just getting ready to get in the car when Jeremy came running up and her heart ached as she listened to him. "Jeremy...no...we can't. I screwed up...bad, how can you live with me after that? After knowing that I broke our wedding vows. I broke the promises we made to one another by sleeping with another man. How do I face myself every day knowing that?? How do I face you??" She whispered as she looked down at her feet, tears stinging her eyes, though she didn't know where they were coming from. She'd thought she'd cried them all out.1

"I love you Jeremy...more than anything." She said slowly. "and I don't want you to leave me, but at the very least you should be angry with me. Should be yelling at me. Not pleading with me to stay. You deserve so much better than me. So much better than us. All I seem to give you anymore is pain." She whispered quietly as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear like she did when she got nervous.2

"I don't know what to say Jeremy. If, if you want another chance, if you want to forgive me and try to make this continue to work..." She paused as she looked to the side. "Alright." She whispered as tears streamed down her cheeks. "But don't ask me to forgive you...you had nothing I needed to forgive. I'm the one that broke your heart, and I'm the one that should burn in hell because of it." She whispered as she wiped her eyes but tears still flowed. 3
