Mother,
You may turn off the oven, as I am too lazy to. However, I am not too lazy to write this. How odd it is how the human mind works. In fact, as a family unit, I have created more work for us to do, as now we have to turn off the oven and write this note, whereas we would before have only had to write this note. I may have even created myself more work to do, as upon reading this, you might call me in to the kitchen to turn off the oven myself (Go on, do it.) And I will have to turn it off, for as much as I am against turning the oven off (I am hungry) I would rather do that than suffer the consequences of your wrath. Only because you have the power in this household (and I am quite willing to let you have it, of course, it is only fair) and not because you are the bigger person. I may as well turn off the oven myself; that way you cannot disturb me or exercise your power, like I know you are oh-so dying to do. Yes, I will switch off the oven in fact. So, mother, you do not have to turn the oven off, as I have done it for you. Below is today’s shopping list.
