Rose waited outside of the Band room with her friend Chris. It wasn't shaping up to be a good day. She'd tried being nice to those in her section, but it hadn't worked to well. Only one had shown up for sectionals. She was going to wait 5 more minutes, at most, then just call the whole thing off. Suddenly he walked down the hall, and into the band room. 1
Mark Degiso. 2
Chris was saying something, but Rose didn't listen. She turned her head, and watched Mark. He seemed to have just come from wrestling practice. He was still wearing his wrestling outfit, a very skin tight shirt, blue and yellow like the school colors. Rose had never seen him without his shirt off, and had to admit to herself she liked the sight. She had strong arms, but not too much. Not like the body builders who, basically, made Rose want to puke. It must be from being in foot ball, and then wrestling, and fitting band and God knew what else in as well. 3
Rose loved him for the way he looked at her. All the other seniors didn't seem to really consider her a senior. They probebly didn't realize that the small, almost tiny, horribly shy girls was the same person. That or they thought she was weak. Mark never looked at her that way though. He always looked at her like she were his equale. Whenever he was around she felt special, like no one else mattered. He probebly didn't feel the same way at all. Probebly didn't realize how much it meant to her that he looked at her like that. If anything the fact he didn't notice he was being nice made her love him even more. It wasn't a game to him, a scam like with so many other people. He was nice because it was the right thing to be. He was kind because he was kind, no alterior motive. Chris pushed Rose, who looked back at her. 4
Day one. The sectional. 5
"I don't think their ganna show up. Lets just go."6
"Yeah." Rose said, turning to watch Mark as they left threw the door. Somehow in only a few moments he had got the whole room lauphing. She wished she could do that. She wished she could stay, instead of leaving like a big hair. "Yeah." She repeated as the door closed on their lauphter. 7
"Geese, whats with you today?" Chris asked, giving Rose a look. Rose smiled, then turned it into a frown. 8
"My section. I swear, I'm going to give each and everyone of them 25 push ups for missing. Without excuses either! They will regret that!" Chris lauphed. Rose thought Chris didn't believe her, like no one believed her. She smiled anyway. Tomarrow, when the entire section, sept the one, had to do 25 push ups in front of the whole class they would take her much more seriously. And if they missed again, well then they'd just have to do 50. She decided then and there that either she would have the best muscical section in the band, or the healthiest. It wasn't really up to her though. It was up to them. 9
