Friends til the End: Chapter Seven

Tracie was being picked up from school.1

"UGH! Mom, the stupidest thing happened today. I swear to God I could just kill someone." She turned to the car window. Her face was red with anger. She was angry. Very angry.2

"Well, honey. Would you mind telling me what happened?" Tracie's mother was kind. She had a fondness for Nicole.3

Tracie turned facing the wind shield. Inside she was sad. Tracie had a crush on Payne. For as long as she could remeber. She had two sides on that. She HATED Payne for liking Nicole. Nicole wasn't as skinny and as tan as she was. Why would a guy of HIS looks even think twice about talking to Nicole? That amazed her.4

"Well.. Brendon is having issues with Nicole and her friend Payne. We were at lunch and we saw Nicole and Payne sitting alone talking."5

Her mother nodded.6

"And then Brendon says something to Nicole and that made Payne mad. SINCE WHEN DID SAYING HI MAKE SOMEONE MAD MOM!?!?" Tracie's face was becoming red. She was getting into the lie she was telling her mom.7

"And guess what NICOLE DID TO BRENDON, MOM?."8

"What did she do, Sweetie?"9

"SHE SLAPPED HIM! Because of NOTHING, Nicole slapped him. I swear to GOD I could kill her right now!"10

Did Tracie ever like Nicole? Hell no. She hated her guts since the day she arrived there. Tracie was flat out jealous of Nicole. Jealous because Brendon wants to spend time with her and jealous that Payne adores her. 11

"I'M FUCKING PRETTY SO THEY BOTH SHOULD LIKE ME!" she thought to herself.12

"Tracie. Don't say that. Nicole is a nice girl. I really don't see why you get all mad at her. I'm sure Brendon said a little more than hi." 13

Mentally, Tracie blew up. 14

"WHATEVER, MOM."15

The rest of the car ride was silent.16
