The Voice

'Wake up, my dear' 1

She sat up in her bed, scared, because her parents were away and she was alone, the doors were locked... She lay down again, hiding under the blanket. Kept repeating in her head that no one was there.2

'Oh, come on! You know I'm here and you can't hide.'3

She sat up again, shouting; ' Go away, you're not supposed to be here! Leave me alone! '4

The voice answered: ' Oh, but you know I can't, I'm here for your own sake, you know that don't you? I only want the best for you! '5

With her chin on her chest she wishpered that the voice was right. Her saviour.6

'Okay, we understand eachother. You know this way your parents will be okay, don't you? Keep in mind, it's all for them.'7

She thought that this always was the strange part, first she was the one it was all about, and then her parents. But she also knew the voice would hurt her parents if she didn't go along, so she did.8

'Remember, I know what you think...'9

The girl in her nightie turned around. 'I can't control my thoughts, and you know that. What other way could you be able to?'10

The voice remained silent.11

They went outside, to a bride... the girl walked onto it. 12

'Okay, I'm ready, let's start' she said. 13

'If you think so...'14

The girl sat down on the stone bride, cold as it was in the middle of the night, but she didn't seemed to care. She closed here eyes and repeated her message.15

She sat there for a long time, when her head started to shake. Yeah, well, shake... It was like she was having an epileptic attack or something. Now she started to shake over her whole body. She was crying silently, she kept saying; 'No, no, you won't get me... no, no! Not this time.'16

But she was raised into the air and put on her feet. She had lost. Lost.17

One last tear fell on the ground...18

'You know I won, don't you? You know what it means.'19

'I do,' replied the girl in a low voice 'of course I do. Well, then, make it go quick, please.'20

Again she was elevated, and now she was put on the edge of the bridge.21

'Don't you think the view is lovely?'22

'Yeah, the view... freedom is on it's way, I can see it coming.'23

'I promised you it would be great. You never believed me.'24

'Sorry. I'm forever yours. Save me, please, save me.'25

And for a last time, the girl was in the air. Her eyes spread wide open, her hair following her, like in slow-motion. 26

And she said to the voice; ' Tell my parents goodbye. '27
