Author notes

60 words. My intent was to create a sense of ambiguity around the piece: Was she still traveling? About to meet another? Would she ever return? Hopefully, I kept you guessing - please let me know if I've succeeded or not. Purely experimental.

Please tell me what you think

Well I guess its ambiguous. What door is it, what new meaning does her life have? However, I've always thought fiction this short needs to express something that makes the reader aware of it's purpose. Still, it's well written, and as you said, there is a question as to what will transpire. I bet another 40 words might give us that answer and thus fulfill what I mentioned earlier.
