A few months after they had met Eyrion and Rayne had finally set out on a journey. There were to head to the mountains in the east, and there they would find clues to a mystery that has plagued the town’s people there for the past 100 years. Many people have ventured this way, none have returned. Eyrion and Rayne get help from Eyrion’s old friend Marin. The dwarf that is as tall as a human and as wise as a goblin, they set out for their long journey. They set out on a familiar path but break it and wind up in a town far north west from where they want to go.1
“You idiot” Rayne snatched the map from Marin.2
“What did I do wrong?” He grumbled.3
“You had it up side down first off and the key down here, tells you what way we are going. And these lines here are not rivers, they are roads. And these here are trees, kind of like the ones right in front of us.” She held the map in front of hers and Marins’ faces explaining the map. The tree’s were tall and thick, they covered everything they surrounded; except the trail, in a shadow.4
“Well that is ridiculous; they never taught me that in school!” Marin raised his voice.5
“Look here those are trees.” Rayne continued.6
“You two, honestly can’t any one have peace for once.” Eyrion shouted. “Now let’s just go back to Ravlink. We can get horses there also; I can’t walk this whole journey.” Eyrion shouted with annoyance.7
Rayne folded the map and placed it in her carry pouch, “You idiot” She repeated.8
“You know we aren’t as all as wise as you. Some of us have poor education.” Marin turned from Rayne.9
“Just shut up. I want silence from the two of you from now until we get back.” Eyrion snapped his fingers and turned to the two fighting.10
“Fine!” They both folded their arms and started back down the road they came from. The trail was dusty and full of stones and sticks. It was tampered with time, and cart tracks could be seen from start to finish on it.11
“Thank the kings” Eyrion sighed with relief and followed them. Marin picked small sticks and stones off the ground and tossed them at Rayne. She ignored him, only to throw bigger and harder sticks and rocks at him. Eyrion chuckled as the two silently fought with one another in front of him. A rustling in the woods next to them made them halt. They drew their weapons quickly and held their positions.12
“Who goes there?” Marin shivered.13
“Shh.” Rayne hushed Marin.14
“I said who is there?” Marin whispered.15
“You are a complete idiot.” Rayne dropped her guard and shook her head at Marin.16
“You two.” Eyrion held his fingers to his lips. His sword shined in the sun, along with Rayne’s claws, and Marins axe, and dagger. They sat and waited like stone statues waiting to see any movement at all. No more sound was coming from them then the trees made. It was like they weren’t even breathing. No movement, just stiff guards. Another bush shook behind Eyrion. He jumped to see what was there, but he turned to find nothing. “Damn these shadows” he thought to himself. They could make faint laughing. It sounded no more than a whisper.17
“This is weird.” Marin shivered in fear.18
“Here we come” The voice gently whispered with rasp. The wind picked up and blew a bellow through the trees. Marin jumped and dropped his axe.19
“Elementals” Eyrion shouted as the wind wisped by.20
“Those are easy to kill, just as long as it’s not an air element.” Marin shouted trying to beat the bellows blast.21
“Rayne, Go quickly to the town, they will need you there.” Eyrion shouted as the bellow grew louder and louder with every second.22
“I see her.” Marin shivered.23
“How do we kill it?” Eyrion shouted to Marin who was shaking like a lone human,24
“You don’t you capture it.” Marin shook and ran with Rayne.25
“Thanks!” Eyrion shouted to Marin. “I hope Rayne makes it back, these are usually distractions for armies. No let’s see, water kills fire, fire kills earth, earth must kill wind.” Eyrion thought deeply to him self. “Now to find her” He glanced about the forest. He spotted her charging fiercely at him. “Nubos El Eartis” He held out his hand sending a stone hurling at her. She dodged it with ease and smacked right into him, he went spinning through the air into the forest. “I have to be in light.” He shook on the ground and worked his way back to standing, and rushed towards the path. The wind picked up and made it too hard for him to run anymore. He made cover behind one of the trees and peered around it to see if he could find the element. She could be seen no where. He looked as far as his elvin eyes would let him.26
“So we can’t kill it. How do we capture it? A pixie bottle? But it would have to be unconscious first”. He danced through his thoughts trying to find an answer. He thought for many minuets while the wind made loud blasting noises as it passed through the forests trees. He grabbed a pixie bottle and placed his hand on the ground. “Where are you?” he peered around to see if he could find her. He finally found her; she was coming in from his right. “Rise nu belus” He shouted placing his hand on the ground in her direction. The ground flew up a couple feet high and two feet thick and three feet wide. The elemental smacked into the ground and fell onto the ground. “Got you” he smirked and opened the pixie bottle which sucked the elemental inside. He walked out of the woods and back on the trail. The wind ceased and no more noise could be heard. He was happy he had silence for a few seconds. He loved Rayne and Marin but they were so loud and always fighting. The trail was not too bad, but the sun was hot. He had not too far to go until he would reach Ravlink. The town was compact and surrounded by a wall taller than those trees but not thick, a mere 10 yards thick. The wall was made of sand brick and mud. This made it not so strong from any attacks. Ravlink was a center of trade at the time and very prosperous with the many metal mines and gold mines. Some people wondered why it was not called a city. It had more residents than two neighboring cities. And was half the size the capital city building wise.27
Eyrion marched on until he found a fork in the road where they had made their wrong turn and followed it the same way they came. He could see Rayne’s foot prints followed by Marin’s giant feet. Eyrion often wondered how two dwarf people gave birth to a dwarf so large. Marin was the size of a human but had all the dwarf features. Like the blonde hair and beard, and the strength. But his biggest asset he got from them was his brains; although he was oblivious to anything that didn’t involve fighting or mining he was smart. Ask him anything about war and mining he will give you explanation that most kings don’t even know. But ask him how to pick a flower and he hasn’t a clue. He wore a green shirt with a v-cut on the neck that went down between his pecks and brown baggy pants. His leather shoes looked old and tattered and he wore metal gauntlets on both hands.28
Rayne was beautiful she wore a ruby read blouse on her top, and a pair of black cotton slacks on her legs. Her short brown hair with red highlights was wavy in the wind. She was a beautiful, her body looked just like a swimmers and her eyes were golden like a ray of sun. She was a different race than Eyrion though, it made it difficult for him to show his feelings for her sometimes, she was a goblin-harpy, and him an elf. She was also much compressed, she didn’t reveal a lot about her self. Eyrion had only meet Rayne a few weeks or so before they had come on this journey. Rayne carried her spear with her at all times in fear for battle, or at night when she changed she used her claws. He was asked to seek her help and save this town by the elders; or over seers of the land. .He quickened his pace in hope that he would make it to the town, before the expected army would arrive.29
Eyrion was the fastest one in the land and not matched with his skills in battle except for Rayne. His blue hair waved in the wind, and his silver eyes shine with each ray of sun that hit them. He was a well ripped and built elf. He knew much about the land, but very little about his own past. His parents were dead he had watched them die many years ago. Eyrion wore a blue tunic with golden trimming on his chest. His pants matched and were neither to tight or loose, He wore elvish leather boots, lights as a feather and comfortable as an afternoon at the Inn. He wears nothing on his hands or head fearing they get in the way of battle. And last he has his belt which holds his sword and around his shoulders are his quiver and bow. He looked like a warrior from the sea but where ever he went on this land someone had heard of him. (I will finish this later but now I’ am tired and must sleep)30
