Emotional Anxiety

Got out of the car1

stepped in the door2

"Great to see you"3

she said with a smile,4

not realizing in about5

an hour or sop she'd be on the floor6

crying for help.7

And the music was blasting.8

Those lyrically 9

incompetant beats.10

She ventured off 11

to the bedroom with him,12

not realizing in two hours13

she'd completely loose 14

her virginity... unwillingly.15

And the music was still 16

playing loudly.17

Those stupid mother fucking 18

celebrities who think they know 19

what real music is.20

He turned to her 21

while they were out on the patio22

and he kissed her,23

not realizing he'd be 24

heartbroken forever.25

Those crazy love fluttered26

mumbo jumbo ballads.27

Bullshit, nothing like little boys28

trying to "say it like hallmark" does.29

He got out of bed.30

Got dressed.31

Started the ignition.32

And he was heading into freedom's 33

undercover layer.34

Jetting accross the highway35

into the sunrise.36

The music turned up as high as it could go.37

As the music got faster,38

so did he...39

until the song hit a high note. 40

There she was looking 41

at the only man 42

she'd ever loved.43

The soap opera music from44

"Days of our Lives"45

on the colour television was46

the only choice.47

The nurses were used to it now.48

The slllow bleak music 49

that foreshadows death to all50

patients.51

Her parents said it was 52

emotional anxiety.53

Sitting at the table with the 54

50's dinner music playing happily.55

She had wished their marriage was56

like before.57

Her father's blows to her head58

synchronized to the 59

beautiful orchestra.60

The six year old,61

grade one, being sent to the 62

office for the first time.63

Being exposed to "eminem"64

every night after he gets home 65

from school.66

Not knowing the difference67

between fiction and reality.68

She sits in her room all alone69

reading biographies and quotes 70

from famous dead poets.71

With a love for literature and 72

a fake love for those who 73

she could never have.74

The meaningfull music is 75

the only thing that can be heard76

as she sits in the corner of her room.77

Tears flowing because of this 78

emotional anxiety.79

This world of mayhem and chaos 80

that we will never81

ever82

escapre from.83

And then they heard the music...84

I loved the part about reading biographies and quotes from poets, and the love for lit.

    It's well written

this is pretty and flowy and it has a lot of beautiful lines in it. the only thing i have trouble with is understanding the middle part. So her husband was influenced by awful music as a child and eventually raped his wife? Sounds good, correct me if ive totally missed the mark. This is fabulous keep it up. You captured the wonder of music in your poem
