By Earth standards, every couple of millennium or so,,,(which is actually seconds in the scheme of the heavens)... many of the Gods and Goddesses of mythical5

legends, take a vacation of sorts. Every time, one tries to come up with something a little different than last time... Since Earth was watched more often than the other planets, many ideas were brought up as suggestions. Haley's Comet had the best one yet, this time! ..Why not "Casino Night"? Everyone agreed and preparations were made.7

The building was the whole Universe, dark blue velvet drapes hung all around with a sprinkling of stars millions of years apart. Clouds of white would elevate the visitors to the proper level.9

The Stars in the Milky Way, lit up the darkness, with the help of a few satellites, here and there.11

The Sun and Moon were the security guards13

in this Universal Game. ..Taking turns in shifts of 12 hours each. 15

Thor was the Captain of the Thunder gods, with Hammer in hand. No cheating he " rumbled" as lightening flashed. Orion's Belt formed the ring around the playing arena,made of brilliant reds and golds..the Titans standing alongside as well, while seating was arranged by Apollo and Zeus!17

Several players lined up their chairs, at the poker table.19

each awaiting the dealing of the cards..There were, Mercury, Venus and Mars. 21

Then came Jupiter and Saturn with all her moons and rings of the Rainbow... Neptune preferred the roulette table...going round and round. 23

While Pluto decided Blackjack was his game...21 was a lucky number he thought... Earth stood back and watched with curiosity, this game the Gods played.... Mother Nature had warned her of the high stakes!..Aphrodite, Athena and Diana, served up potions with beautiful colors mixed by their artists hands. Green Algae beer, Blue Diamond martini's and their favorite Volcano hot tea... Narcissus couldn't play for he was too busy admiring his own image in the reflections of the stars, with Echo at his side, repeating every word.25

The Sirens sung their haunting songs, although Hercules had already heard them all.27

Poseidon declined the offer, due to the lack of water plus he had found a gorgeous mermaid that made great swells in his heart. Medusa declined as well, something about her hair being in a mess and Circe was making magic spells. Odin was helping with wars and Hades had unexpected company, a Union Rep for the Demons!29

Finally the games began and Pluto lost hand after hand, trying bluff after bluff until everything was lost. In his anger, he flung himself to the far end of the Universe,where he became frozen in his stance. Mercury lost to Neptune all his chips, so he went to cry on Suns shoulder, where he became too hot to be near. Jupiter complained so much of Venus being gaseous,that they were both asked to leave before the fighting started. Sun placed Venus near Mercury , so he could watch out for her, while Moon took Jupiter the other way to cool down.32

The only three left at the table was Neptune, Mars and Saturn, so Earth took a chair and placed her bet. Dealing the cards was Mars, with an extra Ace up his sleeve. Since Saturn loved her rings too much to bet them, for she didn't want to admit she had nothing left to play with. So with feigned elegance, she decided to leave the game... Neptune was broke by then for he had tried to entice Aphrodite with many tips.. Trying to be gentlemanly in his drunken state, he offered her a ride in his meteorite carriage in the hopes of getting lucky, but she slapped him so hard he wound up near Pluto in the frozen wasteland of space.34

The Fates came by to see what was happening and found only Earth and Mars sitting there. They peeked at the cards held by Mars and began to giggle for Earth was holding a " Royal Flush"! Holding their sides in laughter,whilst Mars face turned red, Mother Nature filled Earth's pockets with Gold and Silver...Together, they flew back home on the wings of Pegasus and left the rest up to Destiny!36

I love this one, so creative and energetic, who cares about the order, it does say Gods and Godesses, not Norse or Greek mythology. I would suggest not so much space between each paragraph because that kind of space is more a poetry thing...but I do get the connection, lots of space between, and outer space, lol.
