We'll make it through it all~part five

Chapter Five:1

School started a couple days later. Malorie was even more in love with Jake than from before. She had spent hours the day before asking herself what she wanted and it always was Jake. But how to tell him, she didn’t know. She didn’t see Eric until the morning of the first day of school when he came to pick her up. Her heart didn’t flip over inside her chest as it did with Jake and at that second she saw Jake get into his car. Just before he dunked inside, she noticed he turned around and saw her. A smile spreading across his face, His eyes holding sadness. She put up a finger in a “hold on one second.” 2

His eyes locked on hers as a fire played across them. Over the past couple of days he thought about her constantly. Trying to forget her, but the thoughts and actions from the night before kept playing through his head. She made him feel as if there was nobody else, but in truth there was. He began to get in the car, then he saw her sign and he stood still.3

“Eric, honey, I need to go down the street I forgot my planner over there, I’ll meet you at school!” she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. He shrugged his shoulders and got in the car with Sarah and they drove off. She walked the few houses to Jakes. Once she got to his driveway she dropped her stuff and broke into a run. Throwing herself into Jake’s arms, almost knocking him over. 4

He ran his hands through her hair, loving her with everything he had. She looked up at him with wonder in her eyes. She stood on her toes and kissed him gently on the lips.5

“I love you Jake!” she said with a smile.6

“But what about Eric?” she shook her head.7

“Forget him! Let’s just focus on you and me!” she kissed him again soft and with passion. They both thought about skipping school together, but it was the first day and they knew they had to go. But lost in each other’s arms they fell into the hard garage door, bringing them back to reality.8

“So…where do we go from here?” she shook her head again, not wanting to talk about it. “Can I tell you something else?”9

“Please do!”10

“I love you Malorie!” a smile spreading across his face and hers. Their eyes locked.11

“It happens that I love you too!”12

“I know, I can see it in your eyes, and I also know you can see it in mine too.” She nodded her head. She was unable to break the eye contact. Never before had she had that problem. He was different. She kissed him again. “ We should get to school.” He said shortly after their lips separated and their eyes stood locked. There love deepening as they stood looking at each other. His eyes telling her the things she loved to hear.13

As they drove to school, more conversation was made. They talked as if nothing had happened only a couple days before. Jake pulled in the parking lot and cut the engine. He turned to her and kissed her slowly, lingering over it.14

“Will I see you tonight?” he said only inches from her face.15

“You can count on it.” She kissed him again “We probably should go, we wasted a lot of time on your driveway.”16

“Okay.” He said reluctantly and climbed out of the car. They entered school together unaware that they caused a disturbance throughout the hallways. She was already top of her class and beautiful as ever. Jake was the new kid and very good looking himself. They paused at the stairs leading to her locker.17

“Do you need a ride after school?” he asked her, trying to resist pulling her into his arms.18

“No, I have cross-country practice, but can we have dinner? My mom will be out!”19

“Yeah, sounds good. Just give me a call when you want me to come over.”20

“Okay, I’ll see you later then!” she flashed him a smile, then surprised him with a kiss on the cheek. Then hurried up the stairs to her locker.21

He watched her climb the stairs. Her body was beautiful, not to much hip, gorgeous, muscular legs. Her hair fell halfway across her back and trapped the light. She reached the top of the stairs and noticed he was watching her. She smiled again and waved. He returned the smile and the wave as she disappeared into the crowd upstairs. He loved her and she loved him too. For now it would be enough. He decided he would tell her about Morgan when the time was right. That is the biggest secret he would ever keep.22
