Curse of the Undead (Chapter 11)

Ktulu woke up around 4 p.m. and went downstairs to the main room. He assembled together those that would be at the meeting and then summoned for Aluka.1

Aluka came downstairs and met with Ktulu. They talked of the meeting and discussed security measures that were to be taken to assure safety to the coven and the leaders of the underworld.2

"I will assure safe passage of the underworld leaders." Aluka said.3

"I know I can count on you, Aluka." Ktulu replied.4

Aluka assembled his team and left the room, going into the library he shut and locked the door behind him. Ktulu, returned to the meeting room and to the rest of those that would be at the meeting.5

"The remaining underworld leaders will be arriving at 9:00 P.M. Aluka and his team will be responsible for guarding their coach here. Lilith has become even more powerful and will stop at nothing to see us all destroyed." he Said.6

"Lord Ktulu, what if Lilith attacks tonight?" asked one of the men at the table.7

"Then we will be ready." Ktulu answered. "You all know what to do should the situation arise. We will meet back here once the rest of the leaders arrive. Until then you are all dismissed."8

Ktulu left the room and went to the library to speak to Aluka. When he reached the room he found the door open and the room empty. "Hmmmm....that's strange," he said to himself. "Where the hell did Aluka go?" He left the room and went to get himself a drink when there was a knock at the door. He answered the door to find Angelique.9

"Angelique, please come in." he said.10

"Ktulu, something is wrong, I can feel it." she said as she entered the house.11

"Okay, calm down. Let's go in here and talk about it." Ktulu said as he led her into the library. He shut the door behind them. Before he could lock the door Angelique continued her rant.12

"When I woke up today, Chastity was gone. And I found this." She handed Ktulu a folded piece of paper and he read it.13

My dearest Angelique;14

I must leave you. I am sorry15

love but if I am to protect you then16

this is the only way. Please forgive17

me and always treasure our love and18

the time we spent together, however19

short that it may be....20

"Ktulu, this is not her handwriting and it is not Chastity's words. I know her too damn well.." Angelique spoke through her tears.23

Ktulu pulled her close and held her in his arms. "We'll figure this out, I promise you. I've been sensing something not right here in the coven too. It seems to be Aluka...I don't know how trustworthy he is anymore. He seems to not be around much anymore....disappearing at odd times, it's not like him." Ktulu said.24

Angelique looked up at Ktulu while still in his arms, "You don't think that......" Ktulu interrupted mid- sentence, "Lilith..?" They looked at each other for a moment, "If Lilith was to use those closest to us in order to destroy us..." Angelique thought aloud. "We would never expect it." Ktulu finished.25
