Eyrion and Rayne

In dark times after the Great War where Eyrion defeated the evil wizard, young lass appeared in his land. Her beauty un-comparable, her companions just and upright never hesitated to help the needy. They were truly one of a kind. Eyrion traveled the land in search of this woman, never finding her. He searched every where except for his home town and in the forest where the dark elves reside. Even thought the dark elves controlled half of the forest, the other half was said to be tainted with an evil so dark that not even the dark elves could place foot their. But Eyrion was not fully dark, or fully light he had his place among all elves. He often wondered why his family wed and had children with the many different elves instead of marrying in the same race. But he was the last, the final step in their process to fulfill an ancient prophecy. His blue hair and silver eyes show the dark elf in him. His tanned skin, the woodland elf; he was able to run as fast as the plane elf. His strength comes from the elders; elf’s that physically train form sun rise to sun set on a distant island from this land. But what of this new warrior, he has heard many great tales. How her father a great and powerful wizard and she was one of the best fighter anyone has ever seen. She had red hair and always clad in a black dress, sounded evil to him but he did not listen.1

He approached the forest with caution and slowly trotted into its dark abyss. He drew his sword, a fine blade that looked silver and was the only sword to ever be made by the elves and the dwarves. He slashed at branches that were in front of his face as he maneuvered deeper into the dark forest. He could see her foot prints that she left many hours ago before he arrived. He followed hem up and over large stumps and roots from the surrounding trees. The trees seemed to be miles high towering over everything in sight. They obscured his view of the sky and the surrounding land. He pondered in his mind where his she could have come from, and what distant land she was familiar with. He ran past a burnt tree that scrapped his face leaving a drip of blood streaming down his face. He raced after the tracks hoping that he will find the great warrior at the end of these trails. For hours he ran and walked following the trails. The started become broader stepped, like she was running from something. But there were no other foot steps in the forest. Than he noticed with his elvin eyes, a distant fight was ragging on. He could faintly hear the sound of what sounded like metal on metal. He rushed to where he could hear and see the battle. A woman with brown wavy hair with red highlights danced like fighting was nothing to her. Her enemy lay on the ground dead, it was a winged goblin. Her hands were tainted with the blood of her enemy. She was a youwarkee (goblin harpy) her skin was a yellowish tint, her hair fell to her shoulders and bounced as the girl rose from her enemies’ dead body. She was about a foot shorter than Eyrion; he smiled at her with a half energized smile.2

“You are not easily tracked” Eyrion bowed.3

“I’ am not meant to be found” She brushed her hands off.4

“I have heard great stories of you. Of your skills in battle, they are said to be un-matched.” He placed the flat of his sword on his shoulder.5

“Test me” She raised her hands. Her claws were well, long and sharp of course.6

“I have no desire to fight you” Eyrion dropped his sword.7

“Pick it up” Rayne barked at him.8

“No. Just talk to me.” Eyrion sat cross legged on the ground.9

“Stupid elves always…. Wait you look different? Your hair and skin, those eyes where did they come from?” She examined his body with curiosity.10

“Well I’ am a mix breed of the four elvin races on this land. The dark, you can see has my hair and my eyes. My skin is of the woodland elves, my strength and skills are of the ancient Elders and my speed comes from the planes elves. I much of a mix you could say. It’s all part of a prophecy that my parents believed in” Eyrion ran his hands through his long hair.11

“Prophecy eh?” Rayne looked un-amused. “Well I’m a youwarkee, nothing special, just strong and stubborn.” She smiled bluntly.12

“Well may I have the permission to know your name?” Eyrion pushed him self back up to his feet.13

“Rayne….” She whispered.14

“I’m Eyrion, and well if you so wish to, you can join me and my friend Marin. We heard of new adventures in the west, and anew evil that has tainted the land out there. It’s far but well worth a good fight.” Eyrion smiled and reached for a hand shake.15

“Always looking for a good fight” Rayne nudged by him.16

“Stop you don’t know where you are going.” Eyrion tried to stop her.17

“Than tell me idiot.” Rayne threw him against a tree.18

“Well ok go out of the forest follow the tree line to the town of Gabriel it’s just out side my home town.” Eyrion pointed in fear. Rayne turned and started to walk, Eyrion stalked slowly behind her. “What a wanker, she needs to sort her self out” He whispered to him self, “But her body assets are developed nicely for how ever old she is.” He examined the body of Rayne.19

“Don’t even think about touching me” Rayne growled from in front of him.20

“I was merely looking at the surroundings. You have nothing of interest for me.” Eyrion brushed his hair back.21

“No? Is that so?” Rayne stopped abruptly.22

“Very true” Eyrion cowered. Rayne growled and continued on her path to the end of the forest. They reached it with the sun just reaching its highest point in the sky. In the west where the sky was murky and rainy the sun did not shine. Nothing seemed to shine over there, not even the street lamps of the cities. This new evil was even more powerful than the last. Eyrion had to think quickly and take action soon, wither or not his new companion agreed. They followed the tree line to the end and continued to the city of Gabriel. It took them hours to reach but when they got there they entered the inn and went to the rooms Marin had check out. The inn was made of mostly oak and brick. The rooms all looked identical they had either one large bed or two small ones, a rug in the middles embroidered with a cross; the walls were white and had dressers pressed against them. Very simple rooms for such a small town made it feel warm and cozy.23

“Who is this?” Marin rose from his sitting on the bed edge.24

“Rayne, she is that fighter we have heard wondrous tales about. She has come to help us.” Eyrion smiled from behind Rayne.25

“Nice to meet you” Marin held out his hand for a shake.26

“I’m sure the pleasure is all mine.” She smiled and went to one of the beds. “Is this the best of this land? Even my old home had better than this. I sailed from a far off land” She smiled and lay on her back atop the bed.27

“This is actually the worst inn in the land.” Marin smirked with amusement.28

“Well in that case this is just a rat hole. The dwarves could have made something cleaner.” She joked.29

“I’m a dwarf” Marin shouted with rage.30

“Sure you are, I’m also a, what do you call it here? A warlum?” Rayne questioned.31

“Here we use the elfish word haldrin” Eyrion interrupted.32

“You are a dragon? About this high? With spikes instead of scales? And you have a tail made of pure elvish steel?” Marin described the creature making charades for the creature as he described it. “I’ am so a dwarf. You can as anyone” He settled down33

“What ever you, say I’m tired.” She rolled onto her side and fell fast asleep. Eyrion took his key and headed to the room across the hall and did the same thing. Marin sat awake keeping watch for anything that might try to attack him or his comrades.34

Hm...I must say a couple of things on Rayne's behalf...If this is my Rayne. First off: She DOESN'T have claws. Think of an angel or a human with wings (whichever you want). Simple human hands and all that stuff. Plus, she uses a spear all the time. She's never without it unless she can't grab it before leaving. Also: she isn't part dragon or any such thing. That's Rose. Rayne has the power of a mage, but only through chanting spells that she finds along her travels. She is not a cross, snippity, violent sort, only when men make advances on her. She would know exactly where to go because she is the Legend Keepr (she studies all the legends in the realm). She would not treat Marin and Eyrion like you have depicted her upon first meeting. Especially if she is willing to go with them to fight an evil. Anyway, those are some of the things that you're misjudging if this is actually about my Rayne. Perhaps collaboration would better in-tune our writings of each other's characters?
