An Old Friend

When Caroline was very young her father was close to the Lyon family. The Lyon family had a little boy fours year older than Caroline. They were always seen together. The two families thought they might marry when they become older, but sadly there was a falling out. A small fight of why Henry's, Caroline's father,cousin couldn't marry the cousin of Edward, Robert's father. The small little fight lead to the value of the families and who was worth more. Soon after, Caroline and Robert weren't able to see each other.With the families feuding the two were kept seperated. The Montgomery's moved to their estate in Spain and Robert was shipped off to live with family in Ireland. 1

Now, standing in front of Caroline was a tall well built man. She couldn't help but run up to him and wrap her arms around his slender waist. Robert lifted her up and playfully twirled her, the silk robe she had wrapped around her body fell to the ground. He gently placed her back down and gazed at down at Caroline's young curves. Slowly his brown eyes ran up to her blue sparkling sapphires that were her eyes. 2

"I missed you so much! Why are you here?" Caroline said in a breathy excited voice.3

"I'm here to see you of course. They couldn't keep me in Ireland for too long could they."He showed a wolfish grin."It's been so long, don't tell me you're already being courted." 4

"No,I'm not going to be courted anywhere for at least another month." She said this in such as a matter of fact tone that it made Robert laugh. 5

"Well, I'll be here for quite a while I just came down to make sure you hadn't forgotten about me." His hand touched her face softly as he said this. A smile stretched across Caroline's face as his warm hand touched her cheek. "I'll see you tomorrow at Casandra's coming out ball. I hear she's become more..delicate since childhood." 6

They talked for only a little while longer before Robert had left. Caroline grabbed her robe and made her way back to her room, smiling the whole time. As she layed down in bed she thought ,not of Leo as she usually did and had done for so long now bu instead of someone else, Robert.7
