Chapter 191

“I would like to use this opportunity to thank everyone for coming tonight. I see many familiar faces. We have had a productive year. On another note I would like to introduce our guests from our neighboring realm to my left is their General Mark Dobinson and his comrades. Well I am honored that everyone has come and I hope you enjoy yourselves.”  Yerix announced to a crowded audience. He smiled and walked off the stage to shake hands with a short woman wearing a copper plated dress. 2

“It is amazing what they can do with fabric here.” Miranda mentioned to Elizabeth as they admired their surroundings. 3

“Yes, I have to admit it is beautiful.” said Elizabeth with a far away look in her pale green eyes.  “Wow.” gasped Miranda. Her eyes were focused on the other side of the room. There was Eric in an amazing suit like outfit. Eric looked up and locked eyes with her. He walked straight for her. “You look amazing.” Miranda blurted. 4

“Me, you look gorgeous.” he choked. 5

“My cue to leave.” Elizabeth muttered under her breathe as she smiled at Miranda. Elizabeth walked over towards a man with a strange tray covered with what she assumed was food. She picked up a large grape like fruit. “They are aroiks, a genetically engineered grape and kiwi mix.” Yerix informed Elizabeth as he popped a small one in his mouth. 6

“Interesting, I wouldn’t think that combinations would look like this. I would think it would have more of a shell.” Elizabeth said. 7

“So how have you been since we first met?” Yerix asked. 8

“I’ve been well. This place is very interesting. Your plant life is much more evolved than ours is. They seem to be pollution resistant.” she smiled. 9

“Your race is an interesting one. Did you know that you are evolving almost twice as fast as my race did?” he asked her as he took a sip from a silver cup. Yerix looked up as the music changed. 10

“Would you like to learn a bit about our culture?” Yerix asked her slyly. 11

“What do you have in mind?” she questioned him suspiciously. He grabbed her hand and pulled her to the dance floor. 12

“Can I have the honor of this dance?” he asked. 13

“Do I have a choice?” she grinned. 14

David looked up at the waves of people and the whirls of colors. He sighed and looked down at his plate. “What the hell is this trash?” he grunted. 15

“I know this isn’t what you signed up for but this will be an important step in the war against the vampires. We are making a strong ally in our stay here.” General Dobinson said as he pulled a chair next to David. 16

“I just feel useless right now. I don’t see why I’m here. Before this mission, I asked Alison to marry me. I wanted to start a family.” David mumbled. 17

“Don’t worry. I don’t think we’ll be here much longer. I have another meeting with their government leaders. We are going to discuss an alliance.” General told him.  18

“Good. I want to kick some vampire ass or go home.” grunted David as he saw Yerix and Elizabeth spun by.   19
