Game: Torn Between Parents

"What is wrong with you?"1

"What do you mean, what's wrong with me?"2

"Why don't you just end it?"3

"End what"4

"End your pain, your misery, your life."5

"Well, it sounds crazy enough to work."6

"Then, just do it."7

"But won't anyone be sad?"8

"No, probably not, you're worthless."9

"Oh..."10

"Don't think about it, just do it." Margaret's voice told her.11

She ran downstairs and into the kitchen. She was tired of fighting with her mother and step-father. She was just a game to the two of them, they were both trying to see who could keep her the longest and who she liked best, and why. It was beginning to become too much for poor little Margaret. Once, when she became so close to death her step-father picked out her casket and was disappointed to find she was going to make it.12

She picked up a steak knife on the table and without thinking she plunged it into her wrist.13

"Oh, God NO!" her mother screamed as she walked in the doorway. She walked in on a girl who was full of anger, hate, confusion, pain, disappointment, and misunderstandings. As the crimson blood fells across her wrist and onto the crisp white floor, she too fell down along with it. The shock of her cut made her fall to her knees and swoon. She breathed, and her heart did beat, but she felt pain no more.14

She awoke in a hospital, dazed, confused, and her head felt hazy.15

Should I continue?16

Author notes

The sad part is, some of this happened to a friend, parts of it are true to her, some of it is embellished, and some things came from the top of my head. The casket part thing, did however, happen to her.
