Night

Night closes in.  She lies along the shimmering water staring up at1

the twinkling stars.  The night's beauty beyond all else.  Hiding the2

broken pieces of the world under it's blanket of darkness.  Only the3

shining silver stars and mysterious silhouettes were to be seen.  The4

trees shady arms embracing the sky.  It's leaves whispering in the5

breeze.  Beauty without color.  So lovely is the night, yet only the6

small shadow of a girl takes time from her unnoticed life to see this.7

Beyond such peace lies evil, cruelty, and mindless drones.  The girl8

just did not belong.  In self-inflicted exile the girl lost herself in9

the darkness.  But sometimes the burning sun found the night unworthy10

and mask it behind it's painful rays.  The hideousness humans created11

in the city behind her is revealed.  Towering buildings tainting the12

beauty the world was meant to have.  She retreats to the shadows.  The13

pieces of night that the sun left forgotten, just as she was.  They14

were her best day light friends.  She clung to them until darkness15

came back to her.  But the night never forgot her.  It always came16

back to comfort her.  For no one else ever did.  With the night she17

was never alone.  The night looked upon her with sympathy and love.18

As if she were the child it could never have.  For only she stopped to19

see it.  Only she treated it as if it was real.  Only she treated it20

as if it was real.  Only she believed in it.  Only she loved it.  Only21

she knew.  Days without meaning, weeks without a cause, months filled22

with nothing, years passed and were lost.  The world tore itself apart23

with war, hatred, hypocrisy, and many more things.  It had no24

salvation.  There was no hope for the world this shadow girl left25

behind.  Oblivious to these problems the girl was laid upon the sand.26

She stared up at the moon.  The spotlight in the sky.  Her white light27

at the end of the tunnel.  Her only hope for freedom.  She looked upon28

it each night.  And cried for it's absence during the day.  But the29

moon and stars never left her for long.  They always came back.  They30

never abandoned her.  They were always there for her.  Even behind the31

wretched sun.  But the night could not protect her from humanities32

terrors.  All it could do was hide her.  One day, the longest day of33

the year, when the sun refused to set for so long it seems.  She waits34

for the night to come to her rescue for the shadows just weren't35

enough today.  An eerie silence fills the air.  Like the world is36

waiting for something.  But she doesn't know what.  She doesn't care.37

She just wanted night to come.  She looks above to see if the sunlight38

is finally fading.  Something glistens like a star.  Oh how she wishes39

for it to be a star.  But it looked as if it was falling.  A shooting40

star in the daylight?  Did night finally penetrate the sun?  She41

watched it soaring towards the ground.  Like an angel falling from the42

sky.  She did not fear it.  She thought perhaps it was a gift from the43

night.  But as it hit the masked night watched in horror.  The cave44

along the water where the girl lived and the city behind her was45

turned to dust.  There was not a living soul within miles.  Nothing46

within miles.  When the dark clouds of dust and smoke that seemed to47

reach the heavens finally cleared darkness took over.  Night set in48

once again.  It searched the ashes and dust.  But there was no sign of49

her.  No sign of the only human the night loved.    No signs of the50

little bit of beauty this place had.  No trees, charred sand, just51

ashes, death, and dust.  The product of these human wars.  Not even52

the body of the little girl was left. Night falls in deeper just to53

come to day again. All of the stuggles to reveal the beauty of the54

moon and stars are left in vain without anyone to love them.  Without55

anyone to care for them.  Leaving the moon and stars to cry they're56

tears of black meteor sorrow.   Rage of the night finally set in as it57

turned it's eyes upon the vicious world that took it's little girl58

away.  Those little tear become giant rocks that swallow earth up into59

nothing.  Killing all that's left to admire the night sky.  Bitter60

realization sets in on the night.  There will be never again be61

another little girl for it to love and cherish.  It tore apart62

everything.  There was no one left.  Nothing left.  No more little63

girls would ever be born.  Night was left in pain and despair.  The64

lost little girl never would have wanted this.  But she wasn't there65

to stop it.  She was dead.  And night's beauty that the girl loved oh66

so much was now meaningless and alone.  Forever.67

Wow, amazing write. Really thought provoking, I shall have to read it again once I have had time to think about its meanings some more.
