I open my eyes. It takes me a while to survey my surroundings and recall where i am. Then i remember. I lie still, silent. My eyes become accustomed to the darkness, as i hear the muffled voices from above. I roll onto my side and listen again. I attempt to shake her awake, but she won't stir. "Laura," i whisper, "they're here......." She looks so peaceful whilst she sleeps, like a child. As if she knows no fear, and that no one could ever hurt her. I knew that they would be in the house soon. I could hear them moving about outside. The cellar was almost in complete darkness, apart from the shaft of moonlight entered from a crack in the boarded window and fell onto Laura's face. "Wha," she started, as i sat up and listened to the floorboards creaking overhead. "They're in the house," i replied, my voice trembling with fear. She clasped my hand in hers, and pressed her lips to mine. "I love you," she whispered in my ear, as i reclined slowly back onto the bed. I nodded silently, too scared to even breathe, let alone reply. A sharp crack erupted from somewhere above us. The sound of splintering wood followed. I shuddered. They were coming for us. Our only hope was to remain silent and motionless. Laura squeezed my hand, and pressed her face into my shoulder. Her breath danced against my neck as my heart raced. 1
It had occured to me that if they managed to break the door of the cellar, that we would both be dead within seconds. People like us are not accepted in this society any longer. The noises above us had stopped, and silence had descended upon the house.2

Ok. This is just a little something i wrote when i had a few hours off college, but it is not anywhere near being finished. I am hoping to complete it sometime in the near future, but college work is kinda gettin in the way atm. The title is also subject to change. Hope you like it!

wow. This is really good I want to know the different between them and the other people. This seems so great. I have to keep reading this. You have to complete this. I think you also captured alot of love between the two people. But thats just me

Yeah I agree with the person above. Not only is this great but you've created a lot of suspense. And it's so short! I really hope you contiue this and post as soon as you can.

Oooh, I like it. I wonder what it is about them that's got them being hunted down. Maybe you could do a twilight zone sort of thing where it's something we accept very easily in the present, whereas in the future we might not. Like how couples are traditionally guy and girl but now you've been seeing more same sex couples, and maybe in the future guy/girl couples becomes the weird thing or something like that.
