Life Of Teens(Chapter 3 Finally)

Me and Damon both walk down the street towards the park. We walk into the park and sit on the swings. 1

“Remember we use to play here all the time when we were little?” He says.2

“Yeah, me and you would have contests to see who could jump the farthest off the swings” I say laughing. 3

“Yeah” he says back smiling “I bet I can jump the farthest”4

“You’re on dude” I say back starting to swing. 5

“On three” he says, “Ready….one….two…three!”6

We both jump off the swings and land on the ground. I kind of landed on Damon but he was laughing too much to care. We both lay there laughing for while. When we get up we’re both weak from laughing too much. 7

I get out my cell phone. “Its 8:50, what do you wanna do now?” I ask him. 8

He doesn’t answer, he’s holding his wrist. 9

“Did you hurt your wrist?”10

He shakes his head yes. 11

“Let me see then” I say.12

“NO!” Yeah says getting up and he starts walking away. 13

“Please just let me see, why won’t you let me see if its sprained or something.” I say14

He looks at me right in the eyes, I look in his bright blue eyes. Finally he looks away and lifts up his sleeve. There were 5 deep gashes in his wrist, some were starting to bleed. My eyes get huge and I back away. 15

“Why?” I managed to spit out. 16

“Tons of reasons” he replies back. 17

I walk towards him and give him a huge hug. He’s taller than me so I have my arms around his lower ribs. He puts his arms around me and I could feel him breathing weird. Tears swelled up in my eyes. I finally pulled away. I get out my cell again. Its 9:15, so we start heading home. Damon puts his arm around my shoulders and I put my arm around his waist. We walk down the street in silence. 18

When we get home its nine thirty. John’s watching TV and Jake is asleep on the floor. 19

“Where’s dad?” I ask John while taking off my Etnies. 20

“He’s asleep already, he told me to make sure you two were home by 10” John says. 21

I lay on the couch and Damon makes me move my head so he can sit. I fall asleep and Damon wakes me up at 12. I go upstairs and into my room. I close the door walk over to my dresser. I know where everything is so I don’t need lights. I get on a pair of pj pants and a huge T-shirt. Climb into my bed and I fall asleep. 22

I feel someone pushing on my back so I wake up. I move over and Damon gets in the bed right under the covers next to me. I could feel him shaking. 23

“Whats wrong?” I ask softly as I sit up and face him. 24

“Can I tell you something and will you promise not to tell ANYONE?” He asks25

“Yes” I say.26

“ Ok the reason I was so happy to come here is cause my dad beats me. I’ve never told anyone , not even my mom. That’s ONE reason why I cut too”27

I can’t say anything. I want to but my mouth won’t move. I just lay back down on my back. We just lay there for a while. I still can feel him shaking. 28

I fall asleep and when I wake up Damon is gone. 29

I get up, grab my clothes and walk to the bathroom door. It was closed. 30

I knock and Damon says “Uhh…I’m in here….hold on a sec”31

I put my ear up to the door to hear what he was doing. 32

“Oww…motherfucker!” is all I heard. 33

I whip open the door and there’s Damon sitting on the bathtub edge, a razor in his left hand and blood dripping down his arm. My eyes get huge and he looks at me with fear in his eyes. I close the door and walk over to him. 34

“What the hell are you doing?” I ask35

“What does it look like Jade.” He says as he gets up. He sets the razor on the sink and washes off the blood. As he was washing his arm I saw tons of scars on his arm. I knew then that he had been cutting for a long time. 36

“Damon?” I ask. 37

“Yeah” He says turning to look at me. 38

“I…I…I’m s…s…sorry” I run up and hug him. He hugs me back after he pulls down his sleeves. When I let go he smiles at me and leaves. Grabbing all his things first. I get in the shower. 39

After I’m done getting ready for the day I go downstairs. Jake is playing video games. John and Damon are watching him. 40

“Die..son of a bitch..die!!” he yells at the game. 41

I laugh and get some cereal. It is Saturday so dad is at work. The TV is so load that I can’t hear myself think. 42

“JAKE Turn down the damn TV you little shit!” I scream at him. 43

“Ok..ok god bitch.” He says. 44

After I was done eating I grab the phone and dial Ash’s number. 45

“Hello”46

“Is Ash there?”47

“Hey Jade, whats up?”48

“Oh nothing, you?”49

“Brian and Joe are over here”50

“Cool, y’all wanna come over?”51

“Hold on I’ll ask the guys…..yeah sure we’ll be over soon.”52

“Cool, see ya in a few then k?”53

“Ok”54

I shut the phone off and turn it back on. I call Kazy next and ask her is she wants to come over. When I hang up the phone I go in the living room. 55

“Kazy, Ash, Brian, and Joe are all coming over” I tell John. 56

“Cool” He says57

“How come I can never have anyone over?” asks Jake. 58

“Here” I throw the phone at him. 59

“Is Logan there?” I hear him ask. 60

“Oh Shit!” I say sitting down on the couch next to John. Jake is sitting on the floor and Damon’s sitting in the chair. 61

John laughs at me non-stop. I get mad and punch him in the arm and he stops. 62

Damon has a confused look on his face. 63

“Logan is the most annoying kid ever, he has this huge crush on me. He hits on me every time he comes over and he’s only fuckin 8!!” I tell Damon. He lets out a small laugh and smiles. 64

I hear a knock on the door so I get up to answer it. 65

Logan steps in the doorway. “How’s it goin sweet thang?” He asks me. 66

I roll my eyes and let him in. 67

“You know Jade, you gotta stop hiding the feelings you have for me babe.” Logan says. 68

“Oh I don’t hide them at all” I say laughing. 69

John laughs with me and Logan goes with Jake. 70

Someone knocks on the door again. Its all 4 of our friends. We all go upstairs into my room. Kazy gets her pack out and passes it around the room. Ash and Brian are the only ones who don’t smoke. 71

After a while Joe says “Lets go skate” 72

“Ok” we all say back73

I walk up to Jake’s door and open it. Jake and Logan are playing videogames and Jake’s tiny TV. 74

“Hey guys, you wanna go skate?” I ask. 75

“Sure sweet thang” says Logan getting up. 76

Jake shuts off the TV and grabs his skateboard. 77

We all walk down to the church where we always skate. Kyle and Katie are already there. 78

“Whatz up guys?” Yells Kyle.79

We all start skating, Logan and Jake sit on the church steps and watch us. 80

I skate for a while and then sit down on the steps next to Logan. 81

Kazy and Ash sit down and Kazy pulls out her pack. 82

“Hey Jake, why don’t you go to Logan’s house for a while.” I say.83

“Ok, come on Logan.”84

“Bye sweet thang” Logan says blowing me a kiss. I roll my eyes and watch them walk down the street. 85

Once they get far enough down, “Kazy gimmee one!” I say. She tosses me the pack and a lighter. 86

“Ah-ha” I say taking a hit. Kazy laughs at me. 87

After everyone is worn out from skating we all go home. 88

Me, John and Damon go into the house. 89

“Imma go take a shower, I smell like shit” I tell the boys. 90

“Yeah you do” says John plugging his nose. 91

“Fuck you John” I say. John starts laughing, Damon smiles. 92

I run upstairs and go in the bathroom. After my shower, I wrap a towel around my hair and another around me. I walk out of the bathroom and into my room. I close the door and start getting dressed. Someone knocks on the door. 93

“Hold on a sec” I say pulling my shirt over my head. I open the door  and Damon is standing there. 94

“John’s freaking out on someone on the phone.” Damon says. 95

“Yeah its probably Joe or Zack. They call here and fuck with us all the time when they’re bored.” I say laughing. 96

“Oh ok” Damon says. 97

I leave the door open and he comes in. I unwrap the towel on my head and start brushing my hair. Damon sits on my bed and watches me the whole time. I put my hair up into a messy bun and start putting on my make-up. 98

“What time is it?” I ask Damon. 99

He looks at the clock. “Two” he says. 100

“Hmm…dad’ll be home at 5, what do you wanna do?” I ask him. 101

Damon just shrugs. All of a sudden the phone rings. I answer it. 102

“Hello?” I says103

“Jade, Can I spend the night at Logan’s tonight?” Jake asks. 104

“Yeah sure. I’ll tell dad when he gets home k?”105

“Ok, thanks. Bye bitch” He says and whispers bitch.106

“Bye you little shit!” 107

I hang up the phone and go back to putting on my make-up. Damon still watching me. After that I go downstairs and Damon follows me. 108

John’s asleep on the couch. I giggle and go to the fridge. Damon sits on the floor in the living room and turns on the TV. 109

I find some pudding, get a spoon and go in the living room. I sit in the chair. 110

“Are you hungry?” I ask Damon. 111

“Nope” he says. 112

“Whats on?” I ask. 113

“Meet the Barkers” He says. 114

“Coolio” I reply. 115

It’s a show on MTV. it’s the one where its Travis’s 30th birthday. 116

“How’s your arm?” I ask randomly. 117

He looks at me with big eyes then to John then back to me. 118

“Fine” is all he says. 119

After a while of watching TV I get bored so I go to have a cig outside in the backyard. We have a small swing set in our backyard. I go sit on a swing. Damon comes out and sits on the other swing. 120

“Can I have one?” He asks me. I hand him one and he lights it up. 121

“Why do you keep following me?” I ask. 122

He shrugs. “Oh I was just wondering” I say. He finishes his cigarette and looks at me again. I smile at him and he gets up and goes back inside. I follow him. He walks into the kitchen and gets a glass of water. 123

“You want to go hang out in my room?” I ask Damon. 124

“Sure” he says and then gulps the whole glass. 125

“I want to come too!” says John getting up off the couch, rubbing his eyes. 126

So we all go in my room and listen to music. I put in The Used cd and put it on “I Caught Fire” I love that song. 127

The phone rings, I grab it and go out of the room closing the door behind me. 128

“Hello”129

“Hey Jade. Its Kyle.”130

“Hey Kyle. Whats up?”131

“Nothing. You, John and Damon wanna sleep over tonight?” he asks132

“Sure, who alls comin?”133

“Kazy, Zack, Brain, Joe, Ash, and Ash is bringing one of her friends from her old school.”134

“Oh, ok, kool”135

“My parents are gone on business” says Kyle. 136

“Oh kool. We’ll be over at like 5:20 to 6 k?”137

“Ok see ya then bye.”138

I go back in my room and tell John and Damon about the sleepover. 140

“Dad’s gonna be all alone tonight.” I say laughing. 141

“He’ll prolly invite his “girlfriend” over” says John. I roll my eyes. 142

When dad gets home I tell him about Jake staying at Logan’s. 143

“Dad, since Jake is gone can me, John and Damon go to Kyle and Katie’s sleep over?” 144

“Sure” 145

“Thanks dad.” I give him a hug and go upstairs to pack. 146
