Chapter 171

Nioletin softly kissed her husband to be, “Good night my dear.” 2

“I do not understand why you must sleep alone. We are as good as wed.” he argued. 3

“I am not that sort of lady. My sweet, I thought you understood that I have virtues.” whimpered Nioletin. She looked up at him trying to appear meek and innocent. 4

“Well we will be married in a week’s time. I can wait.” he grunted. He turned and stomped out of her room. A devious smile crossed her face. 5

“My little puppets do please their puppeteer.” laughed Nioletin. She slipped off her heavy robe to reveal a bare body. It was common in Maksha’s kingdom to sleep in the nude. She walked to her door and left it partially ajar. Nioletin smiled as she slipped into her bed. She hummed quietly to herself until she heard light footsteps come her way. She slid into the most alluring position she could contrive that was not overtly sexual as she waited for the high King to enter her bedchambers. Maksha pulled her to him and she sighed, “I can’t do this any more. I am going to marry your brother don’t you see that this is wrong.” She turned from him and smiled, little did he know but his brother was in the other room. 6

“No. You will not toy with me woman. I am King and you will do as I command and be glad to.” he shouted at her. He hated how she controlled him. She was truly Queen material. Nioletin knew how to play every person in this castle. 7

“I am nothing more than a tramp to you. I am just another one of your sex slaves and I will not have it!” Nioletin cried. Maksha grabbed her arms and in a rage flung her to the ground. 8

The door to her room flew open and smashed against the wall. “Get away from my wife brother.” Sephened bellowed. He raised a sword and brought it down on his startled brother Nioletin shrieked as Maksha’s head landed at her feet. A guard ran to the door and after seeing his dead king, he shot an arrow into Sephened’s jealous heart. He fell to the floor beside his brother’s head. “My love and my King.” Nioletin sobbed and fell to her knees. The guard gave her his hand and said, “I know this is difficult but Maksha has no heir. You are now Queen. We will have your ceremony tomorrow and the funerals the day after.” 9

“Thank you, I will do my best to lead us in this time of sadness.” she sobbed as she stood and put on her robe.10
