Thats Vegas! Chapter 5

Looking around the circular room she looked from face to face.  “How am I going to know who he is?” she wondered to herself.  3

Suddenly a movement to her right caught her eye.  She turned to look and a guy about 19 years of age was looking at her.  She looked back at him and smiled.  He smiled back and got up and walked to her.  “Sarah right?” He asked her, his voice deep and mature.  She smiled again.  “And you are….” She replied and looked at him.  “Nick” he replied smiling.  “Nice to meet you Sarah.  Want to go sit down?”  She nodded and went with him to the table he was at before.  “You did a good job of describing yourself” He noted as they sat.  “Thanks” she replied.  She looked out the window.  “You don’t seem to happy” He said looking at her.  “Yeah, well, I had a hectic morning” she replied looking back at him.4

“Fun…. I’m amazed that you got away, what did you have to do?” He asked.  Sarah gazed out the window again and thought about if her sister had been found and taken from the attic and if her mom had regained her consciousness.  She turned to him again and replied slowly , “Nothing… all I had to do is, sneak away, that’s all”  He smiled then got up and went to the bar and got two cokes.  He returned and gave one to her.  Sarah took it and sipped it slowly.  She noticed that while he was getting the drinks, he kept his eyes on her.  She couldn’t figure out why he was looking at her, why he wouldn’t stop watching her.  His eyes were fixed on her almost as if he had a hidden agenda.  She kept drinking her coke but noticed how often her eyes flicked up to meet his, watching her ever steadily.  Sarah made a move to stand up when Nick’s eyes suddenly cut away from her and he turned and noticed a police man walking towards them, but not quite seeing them.  5

“Hey Sarah, lets go to the Paris casino on the strip, it’s not far from here….”6

He looked at her with a little fear and she shrugged and stood up. “ok, cool. Lets go then”7
