Chapter Five1
A Thong-o-rific Exit2
"You want us to do what?" Pat yelled over the phone.3
"I want you to drive me, Kat, and Jake to Kansas City, Kansas." I sighed as I listened to him babble and stutter finally coming to a sudden stop and being very silent.4
"Are you and Kat going to elope?" He said very seriously. 5
"What? NO! Hell no!" I yelled. Pat was such a dumb ass. "I already told you, we know my mom is there and we need to go save her."6
"Dumb ass get your scrawny little ass over here. Pronto!" Kat yelled as she ripped the phone out of my hand. My jaw dropped when I saw her hang up and throw the phone onto the couch.7
"You think he's gonna come now?"8
"Yes." Jake and Kat said together.9
"He can't stand ending conversations that way. He'll do pretty much anything to make up for a bad end of a convo." Kat explained chuckling slightly.10
"He's not bringing Jane is he?"11
"God I hope not." Jake sighed. "That girl is as loopy as daffy duck with half the brain."12
"Yeah and about 200 pounds heavier." Kat put in hopping onto the couch and sitting next to me. I put my arm around her shoulder and pulled her against me so that her head was leaning against my chest. I took a deep breath loving the sweet fruity sent coming off her hair. Jake cast us a dark glance then got up suddenly.13
"Jake?"14
"Shush!"15
"Jacob!" Kat hissed.16
"Shut up Kathrine." He hissed back. Kat glared at him then tilted her head back looking up at me questioningly. I shrugged, I was as lost as she was. As far as I know Jake was psychotic or something and was hearing little voices telling him to bite of a bunny's head.17
"Okay, now what, exactly, is it you want me to do?" Pat said as he walked in, Jane waddling behind him. Pat was tall and lanky, had long untidy mud brown hair and eyes to match. He didn't look like a junkie or anything, he was decent looking, but he definitely wasn't a stud. Jane, his younger sister, was just the opposite. She was short and wide with long strait blond hair and normal blue eyes. Jane reminded me an awful lot of Miss Piggy from the Muppet's, except more annoying.18
"Yeah." Jane whined putting to much emotion into her E. "Why'd you drag us all the way over here?"19
"We didn't drag you, Jane. We called Pat." Kat said as sweetly as she could manage considering the fact that she couldn't stand Jane.20
"Yes you did." Jane argued. 21
"You're insane." Kat sneered and walked out of the room. But not before Jane got her hands on a near by lamp and chucked it at her, barely missing her left shoulder. 22
"Haha!" Jane laughed. Kat spun around anger glinting in her eyes. She crossed the room to the door in three giant strides.23
"Thank you for proving my point. Now here's the door. I'm sure you can show yourself out." She said through clenched teeth holding the door wide open.24
"You can't make me." Jane humphed and plopped her self on the floor.25
"Get out, now." Kat glared daggers at Jane but Jane refused to budge. I glanced around at Pat and Jake. Pat was looking at Jane with a look of pure disgust and Jake looked like he was on the verge of laughing. He caught my eye and we both turned away. Laughing in the middle of this situation would of ticked Kat and Pat off even more and pushed Jane into one of her fits.26
"Jane, go." Pat said. Every line on his face was etched with anger. It was a known fact that he was fond of his little sister. But her throwing a lamp at one of his best friends must of pushed him over the edge.27
"What?" Jane looked up at him eyes watering and bottom lip trembling dangerously.28
"You heard him. Out." Kat said shoving her hand into her jean pocket. I jumped over the couch and slid between her and the wall wrapping my arms around her middle so she couldn't pull out her pocket knife and threaten her. We didn't need to deal with one of her fits.29

I glanced back at Kevin, who squeezed me gently. I smiled weakly and looked back down at the repulsive blob of pink sitting on my floor. Pat was just as angry, if not more, than I was and looked like he was ready to throw her down the stairs. Jake looked ready to help. Jane was not very popular.31
"I suggest you go Jane. Before Jake and Pat decide to throw you out." Kevin said with no hint of sarcasm.32
Jane swivelled around on the floor and looked darkly up at Pat and Jake. "You wouldn't dare!"33
"Oh yes we would." They said together as they lifted her up, with some difficulty, and tossed her out my door. I roared with laughter as she landed unceremoniously on her back causing her pink skirt to fly up reveling a 10 times to small thong. I had to resist the urge to fall down on the floor positively howling when I looked at the guys faces. All of their eyes were wide, their mouths hanging open in disgust. Jake even looked a little green.34
"That made my day!" I said brightly as I wiped away a few tears from under my eyes.35
"Well, okay. Whatever crumbles your cookie." Jake nodded still looking a little sick.36
"I can't stand her." Pat almost growled. "Remind me again where we're going and why. I can't stand another minute here with her." 37
"Kansas City to find my mom." Kevin said looking at me. Suddenly everything had become very serious.38
"You guys ready to go?"39
"Yes."40
"Then lets do this." 41
