Vampire's Circle Chapter Six

Ebony was still deep in forest; she had fallen asleep under a tree. She dreamed of the boy she felt she belonged with. He was familiar, she need to find out more. She woke up and decided to go find him, she was curious enough to do so and didn’t care what Lady Night would say she would do or would do, she was already banished. The cave wasn’t that great anyways. 1

She lifted her black angel wings up in the air and flew on towards the city. She was glad she asked the black fire for these wings a long time ago, they really did come in handy. 2

Miles was in the abandoned part of the city.  Not a lot of people lived there, maybe some vampires, homeless people, stray animals, criminals, etc. He walked along the littered street and a lot of the old buildings were destroyed and falling apart. Trash was everywhere and homeless people were sitting on old steps to old houses that really didn’t belong to them. 3

Since Miles got his memories back he remembered his best friend Damien. So he did have a friend, he never had any friends at school he was always a loner. He saw an old two story white house with two big tall trees shading it from the sunlight. Black curtains covered the windows. Damien had to live here, he used live when Miles was a vampire, he didn’t like living in the caves or with the other vampires. He preferred to live on his own. Miles walked up the cracked stone steps and knocked on the door. When no one answered he knocked louder and harder. Finally he heard footsteps racing to the door and the door flung open. Damien had shoulder length black hair tied back in a ponytail and brownish -golden eyes. He stood there for a moment staring at Miles. “Miles,” he asked quietly?4

“ I remember now Damien, I got my memories back,” Miles said as if that explained everything. 5

“That’s impossible, how could that be,” he asked?6

“Lady Night gave them back to me when I saw Ebony.”7

“Come in and we’ll talk more,” Damien said stranding against the door leaving space for Miles to enter. Miles walked in and looked around, the house was exactly the same as it had been one hundred years ago. Right when you walked in there was the dining room and kitchen. And on the left side of the dining room and kitchen was the tiny yet cozy living room. Candles were lit everywhere and black curtains blocked out some of the sunlight that might have seeped through the trees shade. 8

“Have a seat.” Damien led Miles into the living room and they both sat down on the black couch. “Why aren’t you a vampire, where’s Ebony?”9

“No one has turned me into a vampire yet, I want Ebony too but Lady Night won’t give her memories back. I need your help Damien, I know you could give Ebony’s memories back.”10

Damien pondered this for a moment; “Yes I could, but if Lady Night found out I’d be dead in an instant.”11

“She won’t find out, but if she does I’ll help you fight her and so will Ebony. I’ll protect you all I can and repay. You are my best friend, I wouldn’t want you killed.”12

Damien smiled; “Just like old times then?”13

Miles smiled back, “Just like old times.” 14

“Then it is done, I’ll help you and Ebony in anyway possible.”15

“Alright then the first step is to find her.”16

“She’s probably out in the city looking for you, it shouldn’t be too hard to find her.” 17

“Lets go then” 18

The two young men left the house and walked toward the city. They didn’t know where Ebony would be but they knew if she saw them she would see them. So it was worth looking for each other at the same time. As they walked on the sidewalk cars zoomed by and traffic was everywhere, they saw John standing in front of them staring. 19

“What are you doing here,” asked John in a gruff, “Especially you Damien.”  20

“I don’t think that’s any of your business,” replied Damien calmly21

“I think I could make it my business,” he said coldly.22

“If you try I’ll have to rip out your fangs,” said Miles stepping up closer to John.23

John backed away a little bit trying to stand his own ground. “If I find out what you two are doing I will Lady Night and she’ll have the both of you killed, including Ebony.”24

“Sure she will, do you always have to hide behind your “mommy”,” said Damien laughing at him. He didn’t fear John he was just a big wimp who couldn’t defend himself.25

John left Damien and Miles to continue looking for Ebony. If John did tell Lady Night she wouldn’t be able to find them in time since giving Ebony’s memories back wouldn’t be held in the forest. If she did they all three could destroy her she was a coward who hid behind her powers. 26

Ebony circled around the city flying slowly through the air. She spotted the boy she had seen before and…Damien. What was Damien doing with the boy she felt like she belonged with? The only thing she could so was go find out for herself. She followed behind them as they walked up a dark alley. She landed behind them and Damien turned around. “There you are, we’ve been looking for you everywhere,” Damien said as Miles turned around also. 27

“We, you mean he is to,” she pointed at Miles.28

“Yes, he has found out about why you two feel so connected. We have come to find you to do the exact same thing to you. It you’ll come with us we can show you.”29

“How do I know I can trust you?”30

“Ebony you’ve known me for one hundred years, I’ve never betrayed you.”31

“Your right, but what about him,” she asked looking at Miles, she felt like she loved him for years.32

“That’s Miles, and you’ve known him for one hundred years also, he’s never betrayed you.”33

Ebony stood there looking so confused and lost, but she felt like something familiar was coming to mind, but she couldn’t make it out. For some reason she wanted to jump into Miles’ arms and have him hold her forever. 34

“I’m ready,” she said not questioning anything, she felt like there was no time to question.35

“What do you mean he was with Damien? IO thought Damien vanished for years.”36

“No he was with Damien, Lady Night,” said John sitting on the cave floor.37

“Did you get any more information?”38

“No but I know they were looking for Ebony.”39

“I know that already you fool, tell me something I don’t know. I don’t know why I even hired you.”40

“I don’t know anything else.”41

“Then you can just leave my cave before I decide to destroy, GO,” she said pacing back and forth.42

John left wondering why he didn’t stick with the traveling the world plan; it was probably a good idea to do it now and leave all this chaos he didn’t want to be anymore caught up in. He was hired by Lady Night to be her spy on Miles and Ebony, she said he could join the circle on the next blood moon and make a wish, because new vampires were not yet strong enough or experienced for that kind of thing yet until the leader said they were, and he so badly wanted to make a wish. He didn’t know what it would be but he knew he could think of something good. He didn’t want to stick around here any longer, he would leave as soon as he could, he wanted to live his own life, and he still needed to see Bubbles from back home. 43

Ebony, Damien and Miles reached Damien’s house and entered inside. Something sitting there on the couch was very surprising to all three of them. It was Miles’ dad. “What are you doing here,” Miles asked his dad as he entered the living room with the other two following behind him?44

“I want to help you, I never meant to hurt you Miles, and I was too weak to accept that your mother was dead, I wasn’t thinking of you, I was thinking more of myself. I want to help you fix things back to what they were supposed to, your mother taught me some good tricks as I’ve told you before, I can help you.”45

“Let him help Miles, you know your father means good,”46

“Hi Damien its been a while, hasn’t it,” Mile’s dad said seeing Damien for the first time in one hundred years. He turned to Miles, “Please I want to help you.”47

Miles stood there for a few minutes thinking and decided that his dad did mean well. “You can help,” Miles, said nodding. “Have any plans in mind?”48
