The Gates of Norti8
They reached the gates of Norti at dusk. The lags were happy to un-mount quickly and get on foot. They had already been told the could not bring their war fleet inside. That they must be on foot when entering the land. It was a sacred ritual to walk through the gates of Norti on foot. It was a sign of utmost respect. 9
Lady Ednato gathered her lags and gave them orders to go their bo~dinks or tuncas and rest for they had had a long journey. 10
"Major Fryth! Major Kendi! If you and your lags will please follow me. We will go to the Green hall for waiting. The green hall is for outsiders and visitors. Once there, do not move from the hall. I will come get you Major Fryth and Major Kendi once I have spoken to the elders." Lady Ednato began walking away.11
Jasmine looked suspiciously at Kendi wondering what they had gotten their selves into. Kendi wouldn't speak. He had a gut feeling things were going to go bad. Jasmine simply stared out to see the vast land of Norti. They were high tech, and sophisticated. If they got into a battle with them, they would lose. 12
The Green Hall13

The lags were happy to be in the hall. It was a place of sitting and food. They ate while chatting amongst themselves. Kendi sat in a far corner doing his magical brain talk. He always did this right before battle or a big talk. Jasmine knew not to bother him. If she did, he'd explode. Jasmine didn't feel at home in this land. It felt uptight and demeaning. The women were all wearing serving gowns and rushed to serve them. It made Jasmine sick. Just plan ill.15
It took a whole wuator to see Lady Ednato back. She look gravely disappointed and Jasmine knew instantly that this would not go well. 16
"What is wrong Lady Ednato?" Jasmine demanded.17
"Major Fryth, I have bad news. The queen and king will not allow you to netoopu in their hall. The queen and king you see, are both men here and well you are a woman. You know how they feel about that."18
Jasmine grew angry. She felt like she was a piece of meat and was not happy about this. "I demand to speak to the queen and king. Major Kendi does not have the treaty, I do. I was given specific orders on this matter Lady Ednato. You WILL take me to netoopu in their hall. If they do not like it, I will send a Flamtep back to my kingdom. How do you think that will look for you and with the elders of the first flank of Magical Goddesses?" 19
Lady Ednato looked sick and worried. She also knew that she was not going to be able to persuade Jasmine to back down from this. She also knew she had no choice but to take Jasmine and Kendi to netoopu in her king and queen hall. 20
"Very well Major Fryth. We will play it your way for I know you have the power that stands above me that only a 1st flank goddess receives. Please follow me. Major Kendi if you please." Lady Ednato said rapidly.21
"Lady Ednato, I did not have that speech with you to threaten or to frighten you. I just want you to realize that this is very important." Jasmine said taking hold of Lady Ednato in a soft hug.22
Lady Ednato was surprised, she had never really had a hug and it felt good. "I understand Major Fryth."23
"Good than let us leave the hall and go to the netoopu."24
King and Queen Hall of Royalty25
This hall was much different than Jasmine had ever seen before. It was very grand and made her feel like a peasant. But she would not show that she was jealous. Jealousy wasn't something she did when she was home or on the battle field and she wouldn't do it here. 26
Lady Ednato put her arm up to show them to stop. 27
"What is it Lady Ednato?" Kendi said frustrated.28
"You have to wait here. I must let them know that there will be a female Major in their presence." 29
"Well, please do it quickly. We only have two doths left. Before your land attacks us. We need to know an answer to this treaty." Jasmine said rushed. 30
"I will do this as quickly as I can Major Fryth, just understand, it isn't up to me whether or not they see you." 31
"They will see me or I will burn this place to smitherings."32
"Fair enough Major Fryth." Lady Ednato said looking at Kendi worriedly. 33
Jasmine and Kendi talked for what seem a long period of time, but it was only a few minutes in real time. Kendi held Jasmines hand in a friendship peace binding. Jasmine and Kendi both looked up as they heard screaming about a woman other than a goddess in this building. Jasmines patience was wearing thin and she wasn't going to stand for this much longer. 34
"Kendi, I'm tired of waiting. It has been long enough. Let's go."35
"No Jasmine. We must wait. We cannot afford a battle at this time."36
"But Kendi..."37
Kendi kissed Jasmine to shut her up. Then turned around and knocked on the King and Queen's door. He would be the first to enter just incase of any danger. 38
"State your name and bow." ordered the king.39
Without bowing, Kendi announced himself. "I am Major first class Kendi and my commander Major honored first class Fryth. We are here to talk to you about a treaty."40
"Very well let us have it." agitated that they did not bow, the queen got out of his chair.41
Jasmine on guard immediately, "Not so fast. We wish to talk to you first." 42
Appalled at the idea of a woman talking to them they laughed.43
"Why are you laughing?" Jasmine demanded.44
"You do not talk to us. We are royalty."45
"Oh well, than let me tell you the royal line I come from." Jasmine started and told them exactly who she was. 46
The king and queen were in shock. They could not believe that a true Zorbord and Retune-Lanca child were standing in their presence. 47
"Now do you see where I am coming from. We wish to talk first." Jasmine said coldly. 48
"Yes we do. Please sit and we shall talk, than we will go over your treaty."49
Waiting for an Answer50
"Kendi, we have waited 55 venuti's, it is time we go back in." Jasmine said anxiously. 51
"No Jasmine. We have 5 venuti's left and we must wait. Your mother and father said so." Kendi replied back holding Jasmines shoulders.52
"Fine." 53
The lags behind them were dancing and singing trying to pass the time by more quickly. It really wasn't working at all. The time was slowly creeping by like the world didn't even matter. Like it had come to a halt.54
Jasmine strolled through part of the compound they called Kingdom of Norti. She found it dissatisfying in every way possible. She felt it was a waste of her time to even be here, but she was here and that was all that mattered. 55
"Jasmine!" Kendi yelled from not too far behind.56
"Yes Kendi?" Jasmine said a little startled.57
"We have word. The king and queen requested you immediately." 58
"Thank you Kendi, let's get this over with. I don't wish to be in this land another moment. It disgust me." 59
"I agree. I walked into a shop and the women bowed. I nearly growled at them to get up." 60
"Their people live like peasants. I cannot believe this. I hope the treaty is good enough to sign and get out of here for if it isn't these people will die quickly and painlessly. We don't take any woman or child being this weak."61
"I know Jasmine, but let us remember it is not their fault." 62
"I already know this Kendi. I simply wish these women to stand up and be proud of who they are."63
They had reached the king and queen hall before Jasmine knew it. 64
Flamtep 65
"Major Kendi and Fryth, thank you for coming back." The king snarled.66
"No problem." Jasmine and Kendi both said at the same time. Nearly laughing at one another.67
"We have decided that we do not wish a treaty with your land. It would put us as equals and we do not see each other as equals. A woman should be a flower. Soft and meek and do as she is told. Grow and blossom as the age folds into her. Not a warrior." The queen said looking right at Jasmine.68
Jasmine began to boil in anger. Her body was turning red and silver and Kendi knew this meant trouble. "You are fools. You have no force to beat us and your women and children cannot defend themselves." 69
"We will not treaty with you and your kingdom will be struck in one doth. You may leave." The king shouted.70
"You have brought death to your lands. When you are bowing down to my hice or my lidnu, you will beg for mercy on the field of battle." Jasmine shouted back. She had transformed into her magical self and she knew if she did not leave, she'd bring wrath to this hall.71
The king and queen began to move for cover when Kendi slowly turned and told Jasmine to come before she lost all of her temper. Jasmine sent Flamtep immediately after they were out of the hall. She dreaded what was to come next. 72
She knew this land would be destroyed just as the others were before it.73
"Lags! Let's move out!" Jasmine yelled.74
"But we just..." started one Lutente, but thought better of it for the look on Jasmine face could have dropped him dead right there. 75
"I said move out!" 76
The lags mounted and off they went back down the road they had just traveled. They knew that if they saw this land again, it would be in bloodshed. 77
Jasmine steamed for what Kendi thought was too long. He could tell she was in deep thought and could not bother her, but if he let her steam too long, she would go into what he called a magi state, and that wasn’t good for anyone. For when Jasmine was in a magi state, she killed everyone and everything in her path. That is why she was such a strong force on the field. Her magi powers. No one could touch her in that time. 78
The lags had been traveling for awhile and needed rest, but Kendi wasn’t sure what to say, so Lady Ednato did it for him. 79
“Major Fryth, your lags are weak from riding, they food.” Lady Ednato timidly stated.80
“Fine. Let us zunt for awhile. We have one doth left and we have been riding for a long time. We will camp here. Those who hold post, bring forth your magical force fields and do our cloaks 40 clicks away please. I do not wish to be bothered anywhere in the near distance.” Jasmine said raggedly.81
Camp with Kendi82
“Major Fryth, I’d ask for your help in understanding your anger, but I know that I would simply get an answer that says that they should have signed the treaty.” Lady Ednato prodded into Jasmines thinking.83
“Oh Lady Ednato you have no idea my true anger. It isn’t about the treaty. It is about how they treat their women and children like they are nothing.”84
“You have to understand their way Major Fryth. Not everywhere is everyone equal. Your kings and queens have a great deal of respect for everyone and came from two free countries therefore allowing you to be equal and free, but these people do not and will never understand unless they migrated.”85
“You cannot migrate ignorance Lady Ednato.”86
“Ah, you have me there Major Fryth. Again you show me your wisdom and true leadership abilities. You are very young, and noble but one day you will realize that your anger for what you can’t change without unity, is something you have to let go.”87
“I see.” Jasmine couldn’t say much more she didn’t know what to say. She wanted to scream and yell at Lady Ednato for being so dang calm but she refused to make Lady Ednato feel bad. 88
Kendi was sitting back from the lags, watching Jasmine. It had been a long time since the last time he actually was able to just talk to her as a friend. He knew that if bothered her right now, it could mean trouble for their friendship however he felt it was in dire need. 89
“Jasmine.” Kendi whispered in her ear.90
“Yes Kendi?” Jasmine said weary.91
“Come with me. We need to talk.” 92
“Not now Kendi.” Jasmine was too tired to talk she just wanted to eat and get to sleep.93
“Jasmine, you know I have never pulled the age or ranking game on you but I am demanding you as an elder to you, to get up and come talk to me.”94
Jasmine looked into Kendis’ face and saw that he was not playing and would take nothing less than a yes from her. 95
“What is that you want Kendi? I am tired and want to get home. This has been a waste of our time. We need to get back to our kingdom so we can help defend our land that is going to be a battlefield soon.” Jasmine stated in haste anger and tiredness.96
“I understand that Jasmine. But you first of all need to realize that all things are not fair and they aren’t always going to go your way.” Kendi said, guiding Jasmine down to the lake area.97
“I do understand that but this is just stupid. This battle did not have to happen and now we go back into war once again. Kendi you and I have been together since I was four years old in training. You are seven years older than me and what, we have seen each grow up and where have we grown up? Battlefield after battlefield. I’m tired of this. I want out.” Jasmine said stripping her clothes off in front of Kendi98
Kendi stared at Jasmine trying to think of a good thing to say but at the moment her body was more important. “Don’t worry about that right now. Let us just enjoy what time we do have left together in peace.” 99
Jasmine got into the lake and soaked herself, watching Kendi undress. She knew Kendi wanted to marry her for her birthday. But he was almost like a brother to her, however when he did kiss her it was such a wonderful thing. It was different. It was like they were meant to be together. 100
Kendi jumped into the lake and swam around Jasmine making her laugh. He always wanted her to laugh because her beauty exerted when she was in a good mood. 101
“Jasmine, I know you told me not to bother you about the birthday thing, but if we go into battle and we do not have an answer of marriage, you know what happens to the land. I will have to go back to a land I don’t even know and you will no longer be able to see the united kingdoms are they are now.” Kendi didn’t want to pressure her but he needed an answer. 102
“Kendi, what of our age differences? What of this battle to come? What if I am not what you want in life? I am going to be going into a totally different school than you are soon. You are going to be going to Major training for battle and command. I am going into Major training for treaties and policies.” Jasmine said trying to not look at Kendi and see his dismay. 103
“Jasmine, since you were born I have looked after you. You are almost a sister to me, but you know that I love you. I have patiently waited until you were old enough to even ask you on a date and even that got ruined by battle plans. I don’t want you on the battlefield anymore than you want me on there. That is why I am taking a different post. I am taking Major training of foreign policies and exchanges. I will have almost the same classes as you but a little different. Please I just want an answer.” 104
Jasmine was stunned, he was giving up battle? He loved battle. What is he doing, Jasmine thought to herself. “Kendi what are you doing? You love battle. You can’t give it up.” 105
“Yes I can. I can give it up to be with you. I know you will be Queen of Treaties and Policies one day and I will not be a king for I don’t have royal blood but I will be by your side helping you and getting things done with proficiency and fairness like we have taught each other.” 106
Kendi couldn’t stand it anymore. He grabbed Jasmine and kissed her hardly, pulling her body on top of him to sit her down on the side of the bank so that he could look up at her as he touched her soft facial skin. “I love you Jasmine. Will you be my wife?”107
Jasmine was caught in the moment, she didn’t want to say no but she wasn’t sure if yes was the right answer. For he would be giving up everything he dreamed about as a war lord to be with her, but she didn’t want to give up on him and leave him hanging. She made a decision to do it. “Yes I will marry you.” 108
Kendi was shocked he didn’t expect her to say yes. He was silent for too long and Jasmine got edgy. “Jasmine, I.. Thank you my love. I didn’t expect you to say yes. But now that you have, you won’t regret it ever.”109
“I love you to Kendi.” Jasmine said, than closed her mouth and opened it again. She was going to say something else, but she had just realized that this was her first time to say I love you to Kendi and it felt right. It felt at home like. 110
Kendi kissed Jasmine some more than covered them with blankets. “Jasmine I do not have the ring it is at home and as soon as we get there, I will give it to you.”111
“I don’t need a ring to know that you love me Kendi. But I’m glad I’m with you right now.” Jasmine said hugging Kendi close. 112

Jasmine and Kendi fell asleep together by the lake protected by only the force field that Jasmine commanded from her lags. No tunes or anything. Out in the open arms and legs entwined. 114
Lady Ednato watched them as they slept. Finally Jasmine had made the correct decision for herself. But she knew that Jasmine was going to have a hard decision to make sooner or later about many other things. Like her dreams and the reality of this land she called home. 115
Turning toward the lags, Lady Ednato, knew that the Kingdom needed them and needed them fast for the battle would begin soon enough for this land. She just hoped she could get them there in time. 116

she was pissed!!!!, this is a killer story, i cant' wait to see what will happen next will there be war or will there be peace, it is like a sea-saw the possablies, but with a lot more limber and stuff like that. this is a good chapter, i like that you split the chapter up like this, it make it more alluring to read the next one, keep it flowng.
