Caught And Dumped

I look around the room, searching, hoping to see him.  He isnt there, and niether is she.1

"Ray." I whisper.2

"What?" 3

"Jacks not here.  Neither is Amy." 4

"You wanna go?"5

"Will we get in trouble for leaving?"  Ray looks at my dad, giving a speach on who knows what to the kids.6

"Nah, lets go." We put on our jackets and quietly slip out the door.  We walk in silence to Jacks house.  When we get near the house I see Amy run around to the side of Rob, Jacks neighbors, house.  7

"Lets check Jacks house first."  I say.  We go in and find the guys playing video games in Pauls room.  "Wheres Jack?" I ask.8

"He's next door watching the game." I signal to Ray and we walk over to Robs house.  I knock on the door.  "Hey is Jack here?" I ask.9

"He and Amy went outside to talk." someone replies as they stare at the screen.  Ray gives me a knowing look as we walk back outside.10

"Stay here." I walk around to the side of the house to find Amy laughing.  "Where is he."  I ask.11

"I dont know!" she says in between laughs.  I glare at her and walk around to the  back of the house. No sign of him.  I continue on the other side of the house.  I find him, hiding behind the truck.12

"What are you doing?" I ask angrily.13

"Nothing!" he says. Hes laughing.  I throw the flash light at him and storm off.  I hear Ray telling him he might want to follow me.  I sit down between some trees.  I can hear him coming.  I dare him to sit next to me, i dare him.14

"Hey." Hes trying not to laugh!  What is wrong with him!  I cant remember what all was said.  I know there was yelling on my part.  At one point he told me "I never told you I loved you this time."  Stupid jerk.  He told me the first time around.  I thought the feelings were still there since we got back together.  Guess not.  I yell at him.  Tell him hes not better than a 14 yr old.  He's 18 and cant choose one girl.  He laughs at me.  Finally theres a moment of silence.  Ray comes over.15

"So...are you guys still together or what?" Does he really need to ask?16

"Not any more." I say as I get up. "I dont date guys who act 4 yrs younger than they are." I walk away then.  I can hear Ray following me.  17

"You ok?" 18

"No."  He walks me home in silence.19

"Thanks."20

"Yeah.  He doesnt deserve you Alice."21

"Yeah.  I'll see you tomorrow." I go into my room and lay on my bed.  I cant even cry.  My heart hurts too much.  I caught him, and I dumped him.  It was about time. 22
