The Crows part 2

Melissa decided to take a walk to explore Hull, and, naturally, its male population. It was a rare sunny day, and she was quite happy with her decision to go abroad. Fiddling with her hair as she turned the corner, Melissa suddenly stopped short. The hilly green field was filled with black crows! Squawking black crows. Why God, why? she thought. As she turned to run away she noticed something funny about the squawking.1

"To be or not to be? That is the question. For whether tis nobler..."2

"Oh sweet Christ. Is that Shakespeare?"3

As she sprinted off she called Abby. 4

"Hey what's up?"5

"Abs! You're never gonna believe this dude. I was walking right, and suddenly there are all these crows everywhere and..."6

"Hahahahaha. That's too perfect. I love it, are there any bells ringing or anything?"7

"No, but-"8

"Let me guess. This 'sign of the apocalypse'is my fault right?"9

"Well of course. But let me finish you bitch. They're quoting Shakespeare!"10

"Oh my God that's perfect. It's amazing. What play?"11

"Why does that matter you nerd? What matters is that there are talking crows here and it's not funny. I don't see why you're so amused by this. What have you done?"12

"What do you mean? How do I control crows a continent away? I don't even control the crows here. It's probably God talking to you or something."13

"Yeah, saying 'I'm doing this just to spite Melissa.' Seriously, what have you and your fellow freaky English majors been doing while you're 'tutoring?'"14

"Listen dude. I think you should get some sleep or something. I promise the crows aren't talking. Sorry but I'm at work now and I have to go. Talk to you later! Loves!"15

As Melissa snapped her phone shut in irritation the flock rose behind her and began circling the University. 16

"Now is the winter of our discontent..."17

Back in Albany, Abby closed her eyes and laughed to herself. It was working! 18

Author notes

I promise, these are all things that my friend has said to me. Obviously some is taken out of context, but the tone is the same.
I wrote this to continue the story from last year before she went to study abroad.
