A patient called Renfield

the man sitting quietly by himself was outraged1

he couldn't find out why he was being held in this mental ward2

"Your here for observation was all they would say"3

He knew he had been pretty drunk but why the psych ward?4

He had not been allowed to smoke since they took his cigarettes.5

All the magazines were a year or more out of date.6

Some preacher was on the TV and he was bored, immensely bored.7

A Nurse was doing blood work on another patient, when all of a sudden.8

Another patient ran up and grabbed the vials of blood the nurse had drawn.9

He ran and by the time attendants got him he had drank 2 of them.10

It had happened quickly but the man had seen everything.11

He chuckled to himself as the attendants seized and took the blood thief12

to a seclusion room to calm down or just to punish him.13

The man didn't care, he saw in this some break in the boredom.14

And started calling the patient Renfield as soon as he was let out of 15

seclusion.16

Renfield didn't seem to mind as the man talked to him and no-one else did.17

When another nurse was on the floor checking blood pressures this time.18

the man addressed Renfield " Hey Renfield, that blood you drank it was still19

warm wasn't it."  20

" Yes it was." ,Renfield said.21

The man saw Renfield unconsciously lick his lips.22

"But it wasn't hot." said the man. Renfield suddenly looked at the man.23

The man looked directly back into Renfields eyes.24

He deepened his voice just a bit and said,25

"**Renfield Attack The Nurse**."26

Renfield jumped up and in a split second had tackled the nurse27

Blood was flying everywhere and the nurse was screaming.28

The other patients were screaming too but the man was laughing.29

He laughed so hard his guts were in a knot. 30

He smiled to match Renfields smile when he was taken off the ward31

in cuffs and the body of the nurse was being wheeled out.32

"They should not have taken my cigarettes" he thought still smiling.33
