Chapter 43

“Oh my god…”Whispered Anakire.4

Grace twirled around. “Isn’t it lovely?” She spun around once more in a 5

blood red gown. Her blonde curls pinned up on the sides with feather 6

pendants and she had a spritz of glitter upon her high cheekbones accenting 7

her already beautiful face.8

“You. Look amazing!” Anakire walked over and gave Grace a hug and a kiss, 9

eager to get a hold of that body after the dance. Anakire walked over to the 10

closet and flung open the doors in search of an outfit for her. The colony 11

was throwing a party and Anakire and Grace loved dancing, especially 12

competitively. She pulled out a spaghetti strap ice blue dress to match her 13

eyes and began to pull her clothes off.14

She turned around and blushed seeing Grace standing behind her obviously 15

admiring the show of skin in between garments. Anakire walked to the 16

bathroom and pulled on her slip and nylons. Still standing there topless she 17

pulled out her strapless bra and began to pin it on as Grace appeared behind 18

her and kissed her neck gently and said “You know we could always skip the 19

ball and have our fun now”20

“But then Landon and Byron would miss their dates, sweetie, and you know you 21

have been aching to dance.”22

“Yes I guess you’re right. But after the dance…girlie you are mine…” replied 23

Grace24

Anakire giggled and kissed her. “Go get ready you silly girl.” She pulled 25

out some crescent moon earrings and pushed them through the closed up holes 26

to re pierce them. She outlined her eyes in midnight blue and put on purple 27

eye shadow with a hot pink outline. “Are you going to wear a garter 28

tonight?”29

“Would you like me to?” said Grace in a teasing way.30

“Maybe…” replied Anakire with a devious grin as she pulled on her gown.31

Landon and Byron were in tuxes and Artemis said he had another place to be 32

and apologized. They all piled into the truck.33

When the group had arrived at the party, they found the colony’s mansion, 34

empty. The lights, the music, the lemos. They were all there. As for the 35

people, they were, gone. It was as if the inanimate objects had decided to 36

throw a party for themselves because that was all that appeared to be there.37

Anakire pulled her Ford into a parking spot out front and drew her magnum, 38

Grace held her knives at her side, and the boys drew out handguns. Anakire 39

made sure her boot guns were loaded and her leg daggers secure. Although the 40

colony was powerful, there were always assassins. Anakire and Grace were 41

priestesses now, they had to protect themselves. Besides that, many people 42

were out for Landon because of his great internal power that had yet to be 43

released.44

Anakire kissed Grace on the forehead and got out of the car. Her dresses 45

tulle fabric drug around her feet, Anakire shivered and wished she had worn 46

her jacket after all. She jogged round back and gasped at what she saw. “No, 47

it can’t be!”48

An extravigant large cross hung from the old oak tree. Upon the cross was 49

Anna’s body, looking the same it did the day they burned her body. “How is 50

this possible?” Anakire screamed and began to weep as she looked past the 51

cross and saw all the other council members of the vampire colony. Their 52

blood dripped upon the burning grass. She dropped to her knees and summoned 53

forth rain with a small incantation. The least she could do was save the 54

mansion from the soon to be overwhelming fire. Who would do this?55

Grace appeared at Anakire’s side. She was carrying something. Anakire 56

couldn’t bring herself from her knees to look. Grace whimpered and Anakire 57

wrapped her arms around Grace’s legs. This life, the pain, it was 58

unbearable. Why would someone be so evil? How did they remake her body? Why 59

would they dare dessicrate her?!?60

Grace handed Anakire what she was holding. It was Anna’s locket. The locket 61

was large compared to a normal locket and that was what made it evident that 62

it was hers. Inside the locket was a note.63
