Forgotten Tale Chap. 12

Vincent leapt off the roof and landed with a soft “Thud.” Krysty jumped off after Vincent and landed on top of him.1

“Ow.” Krysty said holding her head while getting up.2

“What are your saying ‘Ow.’ for?  You landed on me.”  Vincent said getting up painfully.3

“Sorry next time you can be on top.”  Krysty side giggling while helping Vincent up.  Kitty flew down snickering at Vincent and Krysty.  4

“Me thinks Vincent would like that” Kitty said smirking.5

“Kitty, quit she isn’t suppose to know” Vincent said in a hushed voice. The three of them burst into laughter.  BloodStar landed a short way away.6

“Lets go.” BloodStar said slightly annoyed.7

“Ok Mr. Grumpy pants.” Kitty said, Vincent and Krysty began to laugh uncontrollably.  8

“I’m not grumpy.” BloodStar said ripping of the label to his pants, which read “Grumpy Pants.”9

Vincent and his friends set off to the east towards the rising sun.10

“Kitty could you get a better view from the sky?” BloodStar asked.11

“Yes. Why does thee ask?” Kitty said12

“Could you take a peek?” Blood Star asked pointing up.13

“Fine.” Kitty said moodily. She flew up into the sky and looked around, all she could she was a forest in the east.14

“I see a forest, and it doesn’t look welcoming. Me thinks we should avoid it.” Kitty said coming back to earth landing gracefully.  “Not until we find that book or some other directions.” Vincent said sternly. They walked on.  15

“Well it was long wasn’t it kitty it would take us far longer to get around then go through.” Krysty asked looking back at kitty.16

“Yeah I guess ye is right but I have a bad feeling about it.” Kitty said as her cat ears went flat.  17

“Sorry Kitty, if I knew another way I would take it.” Vincent said hugging Kitty18

“It’s oks.” Kitty said smiling.   They walked on for half a day, with the sun high in the sky; the insects are chirping the grass green and the smell of wild flowers in the air. As mid afternoon began the forest came into view, the grass gradually became dirt and rubble.19

“There it is.” BloodStar said as they approached the dismal forest.20

“It can’t be… Vincent please can we not go in there please.” Krysty said anxiously clinging to Vincent’s arm.21

“What’s wrong Krysty?” Vincent asked holding her still.22

“Not even us vampires hunt in the Bivl forest, something lives in there that  kills every thing” Krysty said starting to shiver.23

“So this is the Bivl forest… I’ve heard of it, according to legend there’s a great and terrible beast living in there.  Created by the Christians as the ultimate weapon to eliminate all sinners from the world.  Something went terribly wrong and the beast attacked whom it chose, the deities saw fit to trap this beast in a forest, so as that it would no longer feed upon the innocent.  No one remembered the forest the beast was trapped in, until man started to spread no man has lived once going into the Bivl forest. A few witches made there way back out with but little life left in them. They say the beast has survived the ages of being in the forest and gave off spring…” Kitty finished her tale leaving an awkward silence in its place.24

“We have but no other choice.” Vincent said looking deep into the forest.  “I have to find out who, what I am…” Vincent’s voice trailed off.25

“Then lets not stand here like idiots any longer.”  BloodStar said unsheathing his blade.26

“Fine but-“ Krysty started but was interrupted by and earth shacking growl of an animal from the forest.27

“Be on your guard.” Vincent said unsheathing his sword.  They walked into the forest alert and ready for anything. The trees were black with odd markings in blood, not even Kitty could make out, being the oldest and wisest.  The ground became rocky and full of roots, the sky above could not be seen nor the sound of insects or birds could be heard. Deeper into the forest they went stumbling occasionally.  Their only light came from Vincent and Kitty’s spells, which only allowed them to see 30ft. in front of them.28

“Vincent where exactly are we going?” Krysty asked as she stepped over a fallen tree.29

“To find a man by the name of Keggston, he’ll show me how to get the book.” Vincent said stopping abruptly.  30

“What’s    wrong Vincent?” BloodStar asked tightening his grip on his sword.  31

“Blood has been spilt upon this ground, but from what… I can not say.”  Vincent said tightening his grip upon his blade.  BloodStar approached Vincent to see what may have shed the blood.  32

“STOP!” Kitty shouted, but it was too late.  BloodStar head set off a trap. Vincent quickly picked up Krysty, leaped out of the way and tumbled to safety.  They all looked at what seemed to be 20 wooden stakes that shout out of the ground.  “Thanks” Krysty said slightly blushing.  33

“Every one ok?”  Vincent said helping Krysty up. 34

“Yea.” They all mumbled.35

“BLOODSTAR!  BEHINDE YOU!” Krysty shouted taking a battle position.  BloodStar spun around to come face to face with a four-legged beast that stood roughly 10 feet high and resembled that of a bear like dog.  In a flash BloodStar was sprawled out upon the ground, Kitty hissed at the beast and began to chant.  Vincent rushed at the beast, Krysty followed in Vincent’s footsteps as she charged the beast as well.  Vincent Jumped into the air, he swung his sword at the beast. Vincent hit the beast leaving it an enormous gash in its front leg.  Krysty jumped into the air and kicked the beast multiply times in the head before landing close to Vincent.  The Beast howled in pain.  “TAKE THIS FOUL BEAST.” Kitty shouted as she finished her chant and threw an energy sphere at the beast.  The beast took a few staggered steps and fell over.  BloodStar finally got up and approached the fallen beat.36

“Is it dead?” Kitty asked sitting on a root.  37

“It is now.” BloodStar said as he brought his blade down upon the beast neck severing its head from its body, which gave a violent twitch.38

“What was that?” Vincent asked resheathing his sword.39

“A Spirit Mongrel.” BloodStar said resheathing his blade as well. “But it has a white cross upon its fore head.” BloodStar said pointing out the Cross.40

“Salvation?” Kitty asked puzzled.41

“Very well done all of you.” Salvation said walking from out behind a tree. “Out Standing.” He said as he clapped his hands42

“What do you want?” Krysty said standing her ground.43

“You’ve all passed my lil test… well all but BloodStar.” At that second a magic portal opened around BloodStar’s Feet like a hole, BloodStar fell through shouting and cursing all the way.  44

“BLOODSTAR!” Vincent shouted.  A wave of rage and anger was now coursing through his veins; he felt it before. 45

“Vincent?” Krysty asked concerned getting closer to him.46

“Stay back.” Vincent’s hazel eyes now boiled to blood red.  Salvation stopped laughing abruptly.47

“Kitty what’s wrong with him?” Krysty asked embracing Kitty.48

“Me thinks Vincent’s rage has unleashed his true power, his full power.” Kitty said with a grim look on her face.  Another wave of anger and raged coursed through his veins his crimson hair ignited and burned to charcoal black.49

“Ha! All that yelling just to change your appearance.” Salvation let out a hallow laugh.50

“Vincent!” Krysty shouted, holding tight to kitty.  Vincent Ignored Krysty’s feeble attempts to snap him out, he was enjoying it way to much.  He drew his sword.  Crimson tears rolled down his now pale cheeks.51

“Put that toy away.” Salvation said pulling his white hair out of his eyes.52

“Leave now.” Said a calm but stern voice. Vincent’s voice had dramatically changed from a gentile kind soul to that of a harsh demonic empty soul.53

“Vincent, doesn’t ye have control of thy self?” Kitty cried out holding Krysty.  Vincent didn’t answer.54

“Salvation last chance; leave now.” Vincent’s demonic voice said.55

“You think I’ll listen to a scrawny boy with blood on his face?” Salvation said amused.56

“How about a boy and his dog?” Vincent’s demonic voice asked. Just then the dead body of the spirit mongrel began to move and the bones ripped out of the rotting flesh and reassembled them selves to take their original form.  The Beast walked put behind Vincent. He jumped onto the neck of the skeleton beast, Vincent and his servant stood ready to attack Salvation. 57

“How in God’s name did you summon a skeleton, especially of that of a large beast and ride it.  Necromancy is a Forbidden art.”  Salvation said looked now worried.58

“How did he do that Kitty?” Krysty asked admiring the skeleton beast.59

“Me thinks Vincent has taped into his Magic.” Kitty said. She said a little chant to cast a protective spell around Krysty and herself.60

“Times up” Vincent said sternly.  Salvation laughed, angel wings shot form his back and he took flight.  Demon wings shot from Vincent’s back and draconic horns from his head, Vincent took flight after Salvation.  The skeleton beast grew Bone bat wings and took flight and followed his master. Salvation materialized mace and raised it above his head.61

“DIE EVIL BEAST!” Salvation said, with one swing he turned the giant skeleton to dust.  62

“HEAVEN’S GIFT!” Salvation shouted summoning lighting into a sphere and threw it at Vincent.63

“BONE SPIRIT!”  Vincent shouted summoning a skull burning in blue fire and threw it at Salvation. When the spells collided there was a massive explosion, the shock wave sent Salvation and Vincent flying to the ground, each unconscious.  64

“VINCENT!” Krysty and Kitty shouted as they ran towards Vincent’s falling body. 65

MUCH much much much better!! You have made the dialogue ten thousand times easier to understand. There is some major action going on in this chapter. I like the more developement into the character's..even the smaller ones are getting their piece of attention this round. Very descriptive..your thoughts seem to be a little more organized. A nice dash of humour as well. The Bivl Forest sounds like a place to contend with, so you had the reader also scared to go into there. This is doing quite well. I urge you to finish, seeming as this chapter of course does not close the entire story (though I do wish it would..I'm curious now).
