We were now driving down the highway. My feet were killing me. I was starting to feel the effects of that little five minute run.1
“You sure are a mean for a detective.” I said pouting. Tony glanced at me through the rearview mirror. He had a smile on his face.2
“What on Earth makes you think I’m a detective?” he said.3
“You remind me of that guy from One Life To Live. I like to watch my soap operas.” I said.4
“You seem like the type to watch a daytime drama.” He replied. I was offended.5
“What’s that supposed to mean?” 6
“You’re very dramatic Laurie. And for your information, I’m not a detective. I’m the exact opposite, and I hate cops.” I had to think about that for a minute. If he’s the opposite of a cop, that mean’s this guy is a hardened criminal. I defininetly had to get out of this car. And I definietly needed to watch more soaps.7
“Laurie, don’t panic. I’m not a serial killer or anything. I’m not going to hurt you. Mickey wouldn’t dare make me promise to watch over you, if he thought I was going to hurt you myself.”8
“Are you going to tell me why I need watching over? And where are we going? This isn’t the way to my apartment.” I said panicking all over again. 9
“I can’t tell you that right now. I’m taking you to my home for a few days.” He said. I knew argueing with this fool wouldn’t help my situation any. 10
“Alright, fine, I’ll go to your house. But, I need to stop by apartment for clothes and personal items.” He nodded and drove me to my apartment. He stood in my doorway as I went to my room. I grabbed a suitcase and filled it with evening shoes, tennis shoes, boots, and gym shoes. I grabbed another suitcase and filled it with outfits and pajamas. I grabbed a small bag and filled it with make-up, personal hygiene products, a lupa, and my hair products. Finally, I grabbed a small bag a put a few purses, and scarfs and two hats in it. I put my a few pair of sunglasses in my current bag, and I got some money from under my mattress and put that in my current purse also. Their, I was all ready.11
“Hey, what’s taking so long?!” Tony yelled. He walked to my bedroom. His jaw dropped at the sight of my packages.12
“Woman, you’re not moving in with me permanently!” He yelled. I saw the fury in his green eyes.13
“Hey, I don’t know what I’ll need. It wasn’t like I had time to plan. Stop complaining and grab my two suitcases. I’ll carry the other two bags.” We grabbed my luggage and left.14
Half an hour later we were at his home. It was huge. It was a mansion. Tony showed me my room. It had a gorgeous canopy bed, armorie, dresser, and private bath. Every decorative accessory in that room was gold. 15
“Good night, Laurie.” He said then he left. I put up my things and changed into my pajamas. I then hopped into the comfortable bed and dozed off in minutes.
