Chapter 8

Chapter 81

(elsewhere in the airport)2

“Well,” thought Alice, “now that I’m alone… But then again when am I not?”3

“Alice!” she heard a deep dark voice behind her.4

As she turned around to see what evil voice had called her, she felt a very heavy fist hit her hard on her face, and she flew back into a pillar. Rubbing the back of her head, she stood up to see an average sized man with metal armor covering most of his body. His helmet was a dark brick red with a dark blue V over his black eye visor. The rest of his armor had spontaneous designs of the dark blue on top of the brick red. There were places where the armor was weak for mobility purposes.5

“Do I know you? You look familiar… Like… My dream!”6

“I don’t want to hear you, so it’s my turn to talk. You, my girl, do you realize the extent of your powers? You have powers beyond most mutants’ wildest dreams, and you’re wasting it all on other peoples needs. You have the drive, you have the passion, and I can see it in you! You could rule the world and yet, you don’t act on it. It’s time to thrive Alice! You have lived to see one of your parents die, and yet everything you do is for that sizzling hot head!” Alice backed up as she shook her head in disbelief, “Don’t be surprised that I know! There are many things that I know, and I could teach you. Join me, my girl, and we will bring the world to its knees. You have no clue why you serve others instead of yourself. Join me Alice, and you will have your every desire!”7

“I won’t give into your stupid super villain speech! Let’s end this now before it gets out of hand!”8

“You have pulled my last string!”9

Alice rose into the air as her eyes turned white and her hair began to rise in the back. Hemet rose to about the same elevation and jetted forward to try and hit Alice. Alice hovered right to dodge the blow, and turned to hit the back of his neck where the armor was weak. Hemet didn’t seem to care too much and turned to hit Alice on her stomach, and she flew backwards and hit another pillar, this time, making a dent in it.10

“I won’t kill you now, but if you resist me much longer than today, I may have to!”11

Alice got up again and ran underneath Hemet to grab his legs and hit his head against the ground. Hemet, though hurt, got up and kicked Alice in the face. Alice was not about to lose this battle. She transferred the image of a virtual world into his head. She disappeared. Hemet was standing on a green grid that looked like one of the really old computer games where he was the only moving 3-D object on the screen. Looking dumbfounded for Alice in this computer land, He felt another whack on the back of his neck, accept this time, it was much harder. He fell to the ground and Alice kicked his stomach where there was another weak spot in his armor.12

“Ah,” Hemet said as he stood up, “so this will be a battle of wits will it? Alright then!”13

Hemet transferred the image of a large, dark, warehouse with several boxes scattered spontaneously so that it was hard to see anything beyond a few inches in front of you. Alice tried to fight the image, but couldn’t get it out of her brain, so she dealt with the current situation. She heard an evil cackle fill the room. Her breathing grew louder as she saw Hemet and he pounded the back of her neck, teleported in front of  her, hit her stomach, and then teleported behind her and hit the small of her back, and she helplessly flew forward again into a box where she hit her head and started bleeding. Hemet disappeared again.14

“You are stronger than this! Why do you not fight back?” she heard the voice fill the room again.15

Alice, filled with rage, yelled loud and fought the image out. She then saw Hemet standing there helplessly in front of her as she transmitted the thought of Hell into his brain. She became a giant black figure with red eyes and pounded on the top of his helmet which made a crack in it. Then she pounded on his back which sent him flying out of the airport window. Hemet’s helmet cracked even more as his face hit the pavement and the helmet fell off. His face was bleeding as he lie face down on the pavement. Alice stopped transmitting the thought and flew down to see just who this man was. Hemet stood up and turned toward Alice with his hands covering his blood covered face.16

“It doesn’t stop here.” he whispered and vanished.17

Alice, baffled, rose back into the building where the crowd stood confused, for they hadn’t seen anything happen but the shattering of the window. Alice and Hemet kept themselves cloaked so that they wouldn’t have this battle be a spectators sport. No super hero liked mass media. Alice made all of them think that nothing had happened so that no one would bug her about it.18

The one person who could see them said, “We’ve got another!”19

“Mojo,” Alice said “I think I just met Hemet.”20

“Really? What did he look like?”21

“I didn’t get to see his face. He had a helmet on and some heavy duty metal armor. His helmet fell off and I tried to catch a glimpse of his face, but he teleported away. He said that he’d come back for me. I don’t know when or where though.”22

“Hmmm… It sounds like if it weren’t for his helmet falling off that he would have kept fighting. That means that either he really doesn’t want you to know who he is, or it is vital for him to survive.”23

“He was bleeding pretty bad.”24

“I don’t think a man like him would mind blood that much.”25

“Hmmm… But I should still get on the plane right?”26

“Yes.”27

“Alright. I’ll be going then.”28

Alice boarded the plane without anyone being aware that she was even there and waited to take off to New Mexico.29
