Betrayal Ch 3

Dylan and Denise were in Pat's Pizza Palace in their corner booth, right beside the window. They ate their pizza and talked about how confused the divorce had made her and how she was doing things she normally wouldn't do. Denise then startled Dylan by saying, "I'm thinking about getting a new tutor." "Are you sure about that," Dylan asked.1

Denise thought about it for a minute and said, "Yea. I'm pretty sure." "Who are you gonna get to tutor you then, the semester is almost over with," Dylan demanded. "I don't know," Denise said. Dylan looked at Denise and said, "I don't mind him tutoring you, but I don't like the fact that you two are making out and sneaking around." Denise let a tear fall from her eye as she said, "That hurt, Dylan." "It only hurt cause its the truth," Dylan said.2

Denise picked up her Coke and poured it over his head. Everyone looked over at them as she yelled, "Fine, I'll just go out with Tommy and you can go look for another girlfriend!" "Fine maybe I'll find someone who won't betray me," Dylan yelled. 3

Denise walked home. She couldn't believe she just dumped Dylan for Tommy. Oh well, I guess I can't undo what I did, she thought. She saw a car drive slowly beside her. She looked and it was Tommy. "Can I give you a lift," he asked. Denise sighed and got in the car. "I heard about what happened at the pizza palace," Tommy said. Denise looked at Tommy and said, "Yea, I reckon I screwed things up huh." 4

Tommy didn't say anything he just drove in silence for a little bit and said, "Well, I am not going to be a play toy. You either want to be with me or you don't." Denise looked at Tommy and said, "It didn't stop you before." Tommy just shrugged and then said, "You betrayed Dylan with me and his best friend Brad. What's the guaruantee you won't do that to me?"5

"About ninty-nine percent," Denise said.6

Tommy just looked at Denise. He guessed it would be safe to trust her.7
