Confessions of a Cannibal

People are like wine. Some are just better with age. I actually don’t have a preference in the way of age, but it’s the whole ‘health’ thing that really gets me going. I like people who are in good health – no diseases (mental included), no bad habits (smoking and the like) and absolutely NO promiscuity. Now I realize that the latter is more of a personal preference that has to do with my own psychological ideals of food. I don’t like the idea of eating someone who has been sleeping around. 1

People seem to think that cannibalism is a lifestyle. Not at all. Is vegetarianism? Do vegans run around with the words “VEGAN” plastered on their forehead? No…. Neither do I. Just because I have a taste for the homo-sapien doesn’t mean I’m some wild maniac who turns the first person she sees into a shish kabob! Yeah, it’s a touchy subject for me. 2

Now, admittedly, I will eat beef, chicken and fish (but not shellfish – it gives me hives). Human meat is a delicacy that takes daylong preparation and cleanup can be a bitch. But it’s good. Real good. 3

Society can be another problem. It frowns on cannibalism. I don’t like being frowned on. So I’ve got keep it under the blanket. I only eat human once or twice a month (twice if it’s a special occasion). But that’s just me. You ought to ask Cannibals Anonymous. They’ll give the ‘humane’ answer. They taste real…dry.4

Once again, I read this piece and it reminds me of Swift's "A Modest Proposal". Very well written, and extremely thought-provoking.

I just thought of Anthony Hopkins during the whole thing. It's a very interesting write. Takes cannibalism into a new view. I love the humor in this. Very nicely done.

Heehee. I love that line. -Juliette

hoping all has been going well with you and the family!

Why do I picture myself listening to Anthony Hopkins as I read this, I hear his cultured voice whispering this to me.
    Creepy! But creepily entertaining!
I wonder what the 12 step program would be in Cannibals Anonymous?
    Very creative!

That was a strange point of view, I must admit, not badly written, just a little creepy, but I'm guessing that was sort of the purpose of the story, to creep you out.
The hook of the story was very interesting, and definetly effective, it brings you in, and creeps you out at the same time.
The focus was good too, you focused on the topic, and the purpose, stayed with it, and it was also effective.
This is good work, and if I have your purpose of writing this correct, than it worked.
