Query (Dandelions)

1

Dear Ms. Hobart, 2

First of all I would like to thank you for not only taking time out or your personal life to consider my novel for publication, but also for offering determined writers like myself an opportunity such as this. I have been writing for most of my life, and I would like to introduce you to the culmination of a life spent observing humanity as a whole. I have several novels in the works, but am most proud of Dandelions, a story that chronicles the profoundly deep love shared between two friends, stuck in the complex world between friendship and something more.3

The novel centers around Marianne, a black coffee drinking, Russian literature reading cynic, who loves far deeper than she is willing to let herself believe and Darren, a self-proclaimed 'nice guy' with an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder who's tired of finishing last. Their relationship, and the novel itself spans two years and includes everything from their anti-climactic beginning to their brief, tumultuous affair; touching on everything from his compulsiveness to her neurotic cynicism in between. The emotionally raw and wholly honest narrative of Darren and Marianne's almost compulsive bond explores the sheer intensity of a relationship that transcends every traditional meaning of the word.4

Once again I thank you for taking the time to consider my novel and I am looking forward to reading and considering any comments or critiques you choose to share with me. I wish you nothing but the best and hope that the year 2006 will be everything that you hope it will be.5

Sincerely,6

Micaela Hamilton (SparklingOutcast)7
