Tall, Dark, Handsome, and Gay pt 1

Conrad watched as two of his best friends exited the bar. Kristal and Charlotte were raring to go with their guys. Too bad he was stuck alone. Well, except for Brittany. The feisty girl he'd been friends with since high school gulped back another swallow of beer. She'd been sober off alcohol since she didn't drink much and watching her throw it all back like a new frat boy was amazing.1

"Joe dumped me." She stopped with the bottle raised to her lips. It slowly came down and she turned to look at him. Dark green/hazel eyes stared at him. She leaned over and kissed his cheek. Then her soft arms rapped around her.2

"I'm sorry honey," she whispered against his neck. She was far from drunk and knew how to make him feel better. She knew he had problems dealing with abandonment. "I'm sure he's just another shitty scumbag." She kissed his cheek again and leaned up. "I know this guy from my work that you might want to meet." Conrad shook his head at her and downed his shot in ten seconds.3

"Nah, I don't think I'll hop back on the horse that soon."4

"Oh, please, Conrad!" Brittany urged. "He's really sweet, bi, and really hot! His name is Matt I'm sure you'd get along great."5

"Can't do it tonight, hon. I got work in the mornin." His sweet southern draw reminded Brittany just how much of a good soft kinda guy he was. She smiled up at him and raised her glass to Jim, the old bartender. He smiled back and nodded that he would watch over their seats. Brittany grabbed for Conrad's wrist and pulled him out to the dance floor. She looked up at him and put his hand on her him and her's on his shoulder. Dancing slow despite the fast beat music. Conrad wanted to laugh at the way she things. She stared up at him. Her deep eyes almost looking into his soul. Her thick lashes framed her greenish eyes.6

"Conrad," she sighed, scolding. "You can't let any one person hold you back if they walk out on you. You have to understand their will be people who will never let you go. I've had friends come and go. Yet I still love them all. Even you and Kristal and Charlotte are going to leave me one day." Conrad made an expression of abject horror.7

"Whether it's from you guys moving away. We stop talking or stop seeing each other over a big fight," she continued on. "Or because of death. Eventually you will leave."8

"So live in the moment is what your saying?" Conrad was definitely getting confused.9

"No," she said. "Live to BE the moment. Find someone that WON'T leave. That's what I'm trying to say. To express to you."

I agree with the two below me, also I'd read over it again. I think you meant wrapping istead of rapping and thinks instead of things. Keep writing,

A very quick enjoyable read. I like the depth of Conrad and Brittany's friendship. I can definitely see a plot developing and it would be great if you would continue this.

    Much love,

I like Brittany's personality and how she is trying to help Conrad. A very good starter, but you would need to add more detail either in editing, or in the next part of the story. A very good read. Keep writing!
