The Truth Doesn't Make a Noise

The waves crashed one after the other.  Aurora  stood on the pier looking out into the waves while she played with the brunette strands of her hair.  She turned to the sky frustrated.  As she started to shake her head she  jabbed her one foot onto the wooden pier. She looked around with no souls but seagulls to be found. She had been standing their for half and hour but couldn’t leave without talking to him.  Finally she saw a figure walking onto the pier.  Aurora quickly turned back to the ocean and leaned on the metal poll.  He causally walked over and leaned with his back on the poll next to her.2

" Hello, dollface!" he called out cheerfully. " Have you decided to marry me yet, or do you still cruelly scorn my shameless advances?"3

He acted like he was announcing it to a crowd standing behind them, but all the audience was, was seagulls and the empty pier.4

“Wow, could you fit any more perfectly into that stereotype of a jackass, Tyler?” she came back with.5

She looked over at him. They both had a mixed eyes. Both cheerful and toured. 6

“Aurora” he broke for a moment “I was trying to lighten the mood, considering what happened.”7

Aurora gave out a small half sigh laugh. She stared down at the sand.8

He continued. “ Last night when I…”9

“I was upset over Jason and everyone else and you were trying to comfort me, so it’s ok. It was just something in the moment, and meant nothing” she said so quick Tyler had no time to reply.10

She started to walk away, when he called out “No, I meant it.”11

It stopped her in her tracks. She quickly walked back straight up to him and smack him. She was now teary eyed, and screaming.12

“Tyler! Don’t you dare do that! You can’t say that!”13

“I meant it though.”14

“Oh my god, Tyler” Aurora put her hand on top of her head and moved back and forth.15

“You think it was easy for me to let you go after all that time together and add on top of the fact you went back to my best friend? Last night when I held you in my arms trying to calm you down after he and everyone lied to you. Yes the moment had a lot to do with it, but I was thinking for months before about it!”16

“And then you turned into a royal jackass, and I broke up with you.”17

“I guess I deserved that.”18

“Yeah you did.”19

They stood apart from each other. Aurora looked down in till Tyler walked up to her20

Almost crying he blurted out, “You know I still love you and want to marry you.”21

“And I want to marry you too.”22

Tyler held Aurora like last night, while she cried. They had to figure a way to be together without hurting everyone else and the truth was that was impossible. They stood in silence as the truth waited for a respond.23
