Bartholomew was a big, brown grizzly bear 3
He lives deep in the densely foliaged forest4
He is the only bear that resides there5
None of the animals ever allow him to join in any games6
They like to make fun of his weight cause he is so much bigger than them 7
Call him lazy cause he sleeps through the winter
This hurts poor ole Bartholomew.9
For he is very kind and loves to play all the same sports as the others10
He just wishes he wasn't so much bigger than the rest. 11
They all fear him cause of what people say about bears12
How they are mean and vicious towards others13
One sunny day Bartholomew was sitting on a rock by the river14
He was quite sad this morning and had tears rolling down his face15
Wabbit the rabbit was hopping along the rocks and spotted the bear16
Hesitating as to whether or not approach the bear, until he saw the tears17
Hopping close to the bear, Wabbit asks in a timid voice18
“What’s the matter Bartholomew?”19
In reply, Bartholomew tells Wabbit how he feels when they pick on him20
Taken aback at the fact that the bear is hurt by the tease that even he inflicts21
Wabbit sits there a moment pondering the things that the bear has said22
Wabbit tells the bear that he’ll be right back and not to leave the spot23
Puzzled, the bear just merely nods his head in acknowledgment24
Wabbit hops back to the rest of the animals faster then he has ever hopped25
Panting when he reaches them, everyone gathers around, wondering what is wrong26
Wabbit finally gets his breath and relays to them what Bartholomew has said.27
All standing around in shock and puzzlement28
Murmurs run through the crowd of how sorry they are now 29
Wabbit bravly announces that from this day forward he’ll never exclude Bartholomew30
A few moments pass before they are in agreement with Wabbit31
Wanting to make amends with Bartholomew, they ask Wabbit where to find him32
They all follow Wabbit to the river where he had left Bartholomew33
Looking up at all the ruckus made from all of the animals running34
Bartholomew is quite surprised and unsure of what to do35
All at once the animals anxiously apologize to Bartholomew 36
Tears of joy run down Bartholomew’s face 37
Everyone runs and embraced in a big hug38
Wabbit remembers that they are to have a picnic that night39
Without a second thought he invites Bartholomew 40
Looking unsure and afraid of what to say.41
The others chime in, encouraging him to say yes42
Convinced now that he is wanted there43
He gladly accepts the offer to hang out with them44

Moral of the story:47
Never judge a person by looks but by what they hold on the inside of them, because you could end up missing out on a lot of great and amazing friendships in life.48
