My Name Is Sean, Chapter Three

I am now three years old. I now have a brother that is one year old and his name is Josh. He is all ready a pain in the butt.1

My days as a three year old would seem normal. Until my parents took me into an organization at a hospital called Outpatient Speech Pathology Initial Evaluation. In other words, place was for your child who has a hard time speaking, and low vocabulary use. This place would change my life forever. 2

Today, I have the wright up on my evaluation. On my behavior, it sad that3

I was a pleasant good natured child who enjoyed interacting with adults. I smiled and laughed frequently. I preferred cooperative play compared to isolated play. The report said that I tolerated the evaluation session well.4

Next was General Development. This test was to test my motor skills, communication skills, and self-sufficiency skills. I was tested on a level 3 motor skill, I screened at 2 and a half. 5

The last test was language.  This test was the worst. I did not tell what 2 objects function's were. I did not follow commands involving plurals or number concepts. I did not respond to 2 digits, "what" questions, use plurals on que, use "why" questions, or use prepositions. My word structure and vocabulary was the communications skills of a 2 year old. Where I was 3 years old.6

In the end, the report stated that I had a moderate language delay by 8 to 12 months. My receptive language skills are superior to my expressive language skills. The etiology of this is unknown. However they think that my ear infections and my mild hearing loss are some of the factors that led to my state of being. Also some family history could have played a key role.7

To improve on my communication skills, they suggest that I get enrolled in a speech/language handicap preschool. The prognosis states that my communications kills of excellence is based on my cooperative and social nature.8

In the years ahead, my life would become hell.9
