The Cliff

Alison sat on the couch of their living room reading a magazine while her best friend, Kelly, paced around the room. " Your making me dizzy."Alison mumbled1

Kelly stopped in front of her and said " I'm worried about Danny." Kelly said while her eyes watered. Kelly met Danny in the part a few weeks ago2

. Alison put down her magazine and said " Well, what do you want me too do." 3

Kelly put her and on her head in frustration and she said " Danny's a 10 year old boy! I feel so bad for him!"4

" His parents beat him, right?" Alison asked.5

" Yes." Kelly stopped talking and an idea popped in her mind. " Can you do something for me?"6

Alison looked at her suspiciously and she nodded. 7

" Can you bite him." 8

Alison's eyes widened and she said " Why?! What would that do! Having a little vampire boy running around! First of all he would hate me and secondly, it would give me a huge headache!"9

" Please, please, please! He's coming over in a few minutes! Please!" Kelly cried.10

But before Alison could object their was a knock on the door. Kelly opened it and Danny came running in crying. Kelly quickly hugged him and then pushed him over too Alison who bit him. Kelly smiled. And Steve, who was around Danny's age hid in a corner watching with fright.11

A hour later Alison sitting on the couch again felt guilty. For biting Danny, and for her brother Steve watching all of it. Kelly sat next to Danny who was still in  shock. And Steve sat in a corner staring at Danny.12

" Why did you do this to me!" Danny yelled at Alison.13

Alison just stared down at her shoes. 14

While Kelly and Steve walked out of the room to make dinner Alison whispered " It's for the best. It's not so bad, you'll learn."15

" What about my family?" He asked.16

" They beat you for Christ's sake!" She screamed.17

Tears rolled down Danny's young cheeks and he cried " Their still my family!" 18

Danny ran out the room and Alison shoved her face in a pillow and screamed.19

3 years later they all were still living in the same house. Danny and Steve, both now 13, still don't get along. Their always fighting. Alison still feeling guilty. Spends most her time away from them all. While Kelly stays home and watches them. But mostly Danny.20

One day Alison was getting ready to leave when Steve came up to her and said " I had a nother vision." Since he was little he had visions of the future.21

Alison keeled in front of him and she put a hand on his shoulder. " You always tell me your visions, how about this time you go tell Danny."22

" But he won't care!" Steve argued.23

" He might. Go try." 24

Steve looked around the room and saw Danny huddled in a corner when he turned back to Alison she was already out the front door. Steve grinded his teeth in anger at Alison always leaving.25

He walked over to Danny. He was playing with a lighter. He would flash it on, light a peice of paper or plastic and watch it burn. " You could light the house on fire you know." Steve said.26

" Well then, i have something bigger to watch burn." Danny laughed.27

Steve sighed and siad " I had a vision."28

Danny got up and said " So."29

Steve played with the fabric of his shirt and he said " I saw us in the hospital."30

That caught Danny's attention. His eyes flickered and he looked at Steve and whispered " I had they same vision." 31

" What does it mean then?" Steve asked.32

Kelly came stomping in she stood infront of the boys and she said " The Christmas fair is in town. Want to go?"33

" Sure!" Steve shouted right away.34

Danny not wanting to go one bit, but he loved Kelly, she was like a mother to him. He said " Ok."35

So Kelly drove them to the fair, which was on the huge cliff. Most city parties and things were held there. Kelly left the boys to go out on their own, she gave them both $20 and she has off on her own.36

" I can't bealive i'm stuck with you." Danny said.37

" Well what do you want to do first. We can go on rides or eat." Steve said ignoring his comment.38

" I say we have some fun." 39

" You know, I really don't want to know what your kind of fun is." Steve said.40

Steve followed Danny. As they were walking Danny said " I'm hungry."41

" How about hot dogs?" Steve asked.42

" No. How about..." He pointed to a women enjoying cotten candy. " Her."43

" Danny!" Steve yelled as Danny walked to the women and talked to her a few moments. Steve just stood a way and watched. In a few moments Danny some how lured the women behind a tent. 44

Steve quickly ran behind the tent. But he was out of time. Danny stood looking down at the ocean. All he saw was a big splash. As if some one just jumped in. Or was thrown in.45

Steve glared at Danny who stood their smiling. “What?” 46

“You know, someone probly saw.”47

Danny shrugged and said “ So even if they did what would they do?”48

“Um…kill you. Duh!”49

Danny laughed and said “ That’s real funny, Steve! First off, they could not catch me! Secondly, If they did, I would just kill them! And last of all, what do you care any way if I get killed?”50

Steve thought a moment and said “ Because, I am supposed to watch you.” 51

“Wait a minute. Did you just say your baby sitting me?” Danny howled. “ No ones watching me, buster. I am my own man.”52

“Your, 13.” Steve said.53

“ Yes. But I am stronger then most humans.” 54

“ Oh, woopydy doo. Does that really make you better then me?”55

Danny rubbed his chin as if thinking and he said “ Yeah, I does.”56

He started walking again and Steve huffed and followed him. They walked around the place for a while and every time Danny passed a food court, or he saw something he liked he’d snatch it. Steve didn’t bother protesting, he knew it would solve nothing.57

They stopped where they started. “So what do we do next?” Steve asked.58

“I’m not sure. I’m getting real bored though.”59

Steve was about to say something when a girl their age pointed at them and shouted to a man next to her “There they are, daddy, the ones who stole from us and every one else!”60

Danny laughed and said “Well what are you going to do about it? Oh no, Steve! Some weak girl is going to kill us! Run!”61

Steve just looked down at his shoes uncomfortably. What Danny said ticked the girl off. She ran at Danny and pushed him. Danny lost his footing and grabbed Steve’s hand. The girl screamed as both the boys slid down the edge of the cliff towards the water.62

Steve looked at Danny as if saying “Do something!”63

But Danny just looked at him. In his eyes were what Steve never saw before, fright, sorrow, and confusion. 64

So they two boys met their end when they fell into the water head first onto the sharp jagged rocks.  65

Both boys were wrong when they thought they saw each other in a hospital. It was a morgue.66
