Waking up in his small “home”, Jim Morrison got ready for another long day at work.1
Walking out into the streets the smell of trash, and human waste crept into his nose. The streets were filled with pot holes. All the houses were so close together that one fire would probably spread to the whole town.2
The sidewalks were filled with other people also heading for work. Trash was pilled up along the buildings that were about 1 foot away from the road. It was hard to even walk.3
Reaching the work place, Jim opened the heavy door to the front of the building. Right away he was encouraged to get working.4
Within seconds He Revved up his machine and started making “the world’s finest tools.” The machine was big and noisy, and Jim was exposed to Dangerous chains, and belts that ran the mammoth machine.5
Due to the lack of light, Jim could hardly see the machinery that was in front of him. Reaching down to push a button his hand slipped and was cut off by a large chain.6
Jim squealed and yelled in pain while another worker took him to the factory’s infirmary. There his arm was “cleaned”, and patched up.7
Because of these poor working conditions Jim lost his hand, all for $0.05 and hour. Jim ended up having to work at the same factory for the rest of his life. He wasn’t still running a machine, but he had to keep working to survive. 8
