Tennesse Whiskey and Sapphire dreams Chapter 5

1

Diablo raised up on his elbow looking at her. " Can we get married tomorrow at the City Hall?"2

" I know you have to know a Justice of the Peace." She stated giving him a mystified look.3

" Yes, but why?" He wondered aloud what was up in that head of hers.4

" I would just like to get married in the one place that it started I want to get married here at the bar." She spoke leaving him speechless for a minute.5

" I will call Lylah as soon as I get dressed." He replied as he stood up pulling her to her feet.6

" Lylah?" Sapphire teased him, making him turn red.7

" Yes, Lylah, She is a friend of mine. You will love her." He promised her as he pulled on his jeans.8

" How did you meet Lylah?" Sapphire asked him as she dressed again making him stop and look at her.9

" Kobe knew her, he dated her one time, but they were to different. Thor has always had a crush on her, but he gave her a bad image of himself one time, and now she doesn't pay him any attention." Diablo spoke proud that she was jealous.10

" We may just have to change that image of him." Sapphire teased as he picked up the telephone.11

She walked in to the kitchen as Diablo made his call. She would make some lunch for everyone, and then decide the easiest way to make Lylah notice Thor.12

She pulled out items in the refridgerator to make sandwiches with, and begin to make them.13

Diablo came in with a frown on his face. " She will not be able to marry us tomorrow."14

" Why not?" Sapphire asked him making him shake his head.15

" She said she was busy with other marriages, but she can marry us tonight." 16

" What did you tell her?" Sapphire wondered already knew the answer17

" She will be here in about three hours." He grinned at her with a husky look in his eyes.18

" Describe Lylah to me so I will know who she is when she comes in."19

Sapphire hinted making Diablo smirk.20

" Just watch Thor, and you will see her when she comes in the door because his tongue will hit the floor." Diablo teased her, making her fiery temper rise. She walked back to the refrigerator without saying a word. She opened it up making sure he could not see what she was getting out.21

Diablo was standing, watching her. He knew that she was miffed because he was teasing her.  He looked away for one second and then a stream of white foam squirted all over him. His hair, face and tee shirt was covered with whip cream. He stood rooted to the spot staring at her then she ran beside him, and out of the kitchen with a giggle.22

He chased her catching her in the living room he pulled her against him, as he took the whip cream away from her. He sprayed her with it. Sapphire giggled as the white froth hit her. He kissed her and they could both taste the white sweetness. 23

" Go start the shower, sweetheart." Diablo spoke as he let her go. " I will be right there."24

Sapphire walked into the bathroom, pulling the butterfly shower curtain back far enough to turn the handle on. She adjusted the water and shed her clothes. She stood in the water allowing it to cascade over her body. She heard the door open then felt the body strong and warm step behind her.25

" I love to shower with you." He whispered and she could feel his arousal pressing into her as he lathered the soap caressing her breasts with it.26

" Mmm, I love it also." She moaned as he washed her body. He slipped inside her as he continued to caress her body.27

He made love to her tenderly and softly until they both fell over the cascading waterfall of emotions. 28

She finished before he did so she kissed him then left the tub, feeling wicked she took his clothes with her to the bedroom. She pulled on a pair of blue jeans and a green tee shirt, turning as she saw him walk through the door with nothing but a towel. She smirked at him as she threw him his clothes.29

" Why did you take my clothes?" He asked with a grin, and noticed that the temporary tattoo had washed away.30

" I just love to see your gorgeous body." She spoke with a lust filled voice. " I wished you could go nude all the time."31

Diablo's cheeks turned crimson at the thought making her laugh. " You body does turn me on." He told her grinning at her.32

" Now that stupid fake tattoo is gone."33

" I have to go buy a new dress before the wedding." Sapphire informed him watching him pull the jeans over his hips.34

" You and your mama have fun. I do not go shopping with a woman." 35

Sapphire stuck out her tongue childishly at him, making him laugh at her.36

He took her hand and together they walked out the room and out of the apartment down to the bar. Sapphire was shocked to find her mother playing poker with Thor, Kobe and Diego.37

" Mother" She shrilled at the cards Emerald was holding in her hands. " I leave you alone for a little while, and you have let these hoodlums take advantage of you." She teased making Thor laugh at her statement.38

" Take advantage my tattoo. I have lost my share of the cabin along with the hundred and twenty bucks I had with me. Diego has lost a case of beer plus the three hundred dollars he had on him, and Kobe has lost his Harley Davidson motorcycle and five hundred dollars."39

" What?" Diablo and Sapphire asked in unisom making Emerald look up with an angelic grin on her face.40

" Oh Boys, did I forget to tell you that my dear old pappy, Holden was one of the best gamblers in Texas and taught me everything I know in cards."41

Thor throwed in his next hand making Sapphire giggle at them. Diablo wanted to laugh but the stricken faces on his brother and friends made him cough instead. They had been duped and he could not believe it.42

"You can have it all back." Emerald smiled sweetly. " I just wanted to see if this little mouse of a woman still had it in her."43

" Yea mama you still have it." The three men spoke quickly. Emerald stood to her feet as Diablo cleared his throat.44

" The bar will be closed tonight with the exceptions of one person."45

Sapphire grinned at the heads popping up with a look of astonishment on their faces.46

" Lylah Denton will be here in three hours to marry us, and then we are taking off to the cabin for our honeymoon for a week. You can open the bar tomorrow night. We are going to celebrate tonight."47

" Lylah?" Thor questioned as a soft look came upon his face.48

" Yes." Diablo stated to his buddy.49

" Mama, I want you to go with me to find a wedding dress." She spoke as her mothers eyes filled with tears.50

" My baby girl is getting married."51

" You will always be here, mama, I will make sure Diablo buys you a rocking chair to rock your first grandchild in at night."52

" I am so happy." Emerald stated as she hugged everyone in the room.53

Diablo watched the two women walk out the door as Diego came up to him.54

" Congradulations, Diablo, you found one helluva woman. If you don't make her happy, I will personally kick your butt." 55

" Let's get this place cleaned up. I want it to look good for the wedding." Diablo spoke quickly as he started to move.56

Two hours later, Diablo begin to worry about Sapphire and Emerald. Lylah arrived thirty minutes later, and he sat on the barstool watching the door. He had gave Sapphire his cell phone, He wondered why she had not called yet. He picked up the phone from behind the bar when the door swung open, a man walked inside stopping to stare.57

" Which one of you is Diablo?" He questioned making Diablo jump to his feet. 58

" I am Diablo. What can I do for you?"59

He opened his mouth to speak when Emerald burst through the door wearing a bandage on her head. " I turned my back for one minute and someone knocked me out, when I woke up Sapphire was gone." She cried stumbling forward Diablo caught her helping her to a chair.60

" What do you mean was gone?" Diablo had a funny feeling in his gut, and he did not like it.61

" She was gone, someone took her."  Emerald cried her body racked with sobs. " They left this behind."62

She handed Diablo a piece of paper.63

" If you want Red back alive, I want a million dollars in small bills. I will get in touch with you at the bar, Diablo James. I know who you are."64

Diablo felt a cold chill run down his spine as he looked at Diego. " I want Durant and Durango here immediately." He shouted to Diego as he walked to the door of the bar. He stopped then turned to look at them.65

" Thor, I want as many of your biker friends here, but no women. This could get messy."66

Kobe and Lylah took Emerald to the apartment to give her a sleeping pill, Lylah stayed with her as Kobe went back downstairs and the hunt begin for Diablo.67

Sapphire was cramped in the trunk of the car. Her hands and legs were tied behind her back. She was blindfolded and gagged. She was scared. One minute she was modeling the wedding dress that she now had on, and the next she was passing out. 68

When she came to she was in the trunk of a car that was going down the road. Her father must have found someone else. She tried to get to the cellphone that she had placed in the garter belt because she had promised Diablo to keep it with her at all times, but she couldn't reach it.69

She cried afraid for her life. 70

Diego watched Diablo walk back through the door with a box. He walked up to the bar and sat it down dusting it off.71

" Durant, and Durango will be here in an hour." Diego told him as Thor and Kobe walked up to the bar.72

" I have a hundred or more friends on their way." 73

Diablo closed his eyes for a quick prayer, opening them he saw Diego watching him.74

" You know who has her?" Diego asked softly making Diablo nod his head.75

" Pete Washington." Diablo stated with a whisper making Diego pale at the thought.76

" Who in the hell is Pete Washington?" Thor questioned them making Diablo turn to look at him.77

" I was a private investigater with Diego, Durant, and Durango before I opened this place." Diablo told them and they sat down. " We had this case from Jerold Myles, a new client of ours. Someone was stalking his twenty one year old daughter. In the meantime, several women that had the same features as Maggie Myles were being found raped and murdered all around Tennessee. I investigated each crime scene as the calls came in and linked them all together. I traced credit card reciepts for gas for a Pete Washington on the same day as the murders occured and found his address. I started staking him out and following him. He would always drive to Jerold's house, and then watch Maggie through binoculars. I took the investigating detective one night with me, and he arrested him for stalking Maggie, but when they searched his house. He had a scrapbook filled with mementos from the rapes and murders. He had brutally raped then murdered over forty women in Tennessee, Georgia, and the Carolinas. Everyone of them resembled Maggie Myles in some way or another."78

 " We have to find him and find him fast because it is me he wants. If he harms one hair on my Fire's head I will kill him with my bare hands." Diablo thundered as he hit the bar with his fist.79

Sapphire felt the car stopping and trying to figure out her next move, it was a little hard to fight back when hogtied but there should be something she could do to get away. Her wrists and ankles both hurt. She listened to her kidnapper's every movement, as she heard him approach the trunk she closed her eyes. He raised the lid laughing at the sight of the beautiful young woman in the wedding dress. He picked her up carrying her in the cabin He owned just a little ways away from the James Boys cabin. He would keep her right under their noses.80

Diablo paced the floor as he waited for his brothers. Diego heard the phone ring and picked up to hear Durango's voice on the end. 81

Pete carried Sapphire in the bedroom of the cabin, and laid her on the bed. He untied her then retied her to the bed. He touched her face with a dirty finger, making her shiver.82

" Who hired you?" Sapphire asked him as he laughed evilly. 83

" What makes you think someone had to hire me to get back at the one man I hated more than anything in this world." He responded as she looked over the fat slob of a man, and wanted to gag from his dirty blonde unkempt hair to the gross odor emitting from him. 84

" Diablo James set me up for murder and rape." The gleam from his eyes made her recoil with nauseous. " Although I did do it. I will always love Maggie, but for the last few years I have been in prison. The same prison they sent your Father too after he pled guilty to conspiracy to commit kidnapping. He helped me escape and promised to let me keep the ransom money as long as I take you to Texas. "85

" Why take me to Texas?" She hoped to keep him talking.86

" You have a wedding to attend. Barry Davis is waiting for you." Pete told her making her feel sick at her stomach.87

" I have some calls to make, and then I will be back." He walked out of the room as she worked her hands trying to get them loosened, but to no avail. She looked at the window praying that Diablo would find her in time when a face moved into the window. She thought it was Diablo, but a second look showed her the different features. The man motioned for her to be quiet. He opened the window slowly and quietly, climbing inside and coming to the bed. " My name is Durant, I am Diablo's brother. We just happen to spot Pete and followed him. I am going to untie you then get you out of here." He moved and untied her right wrist and then the other wrist. Durant moved unbinding her feet, he helped her to stand, started to lead her to the window when the door opened on them. Pete roared starting towards them, but Durant pushed Sapphire out of the way. He took the brunt of Pete's wrath, knocking him off his feet. The two men rolled as Sapphire felt her temper rising. She watched as Pete stood up and Durant layed silently on the floor. Sapphire jumped giving Pete a round house kick catching him in the jaw, making him stumble backwards. She followed him in to the living room, every time He would raise she would kick him again. He stared at her in disbelief that a young woman like her could do this to him.88

Sapphire saw the plate glass window and felt her legs quiver from being tied in one position to long. She could do about one more kick before she collapsed on the ground. Pete stood winded in front of the plate glass window when he heard the front door cracking from the sound of force. Sapphire could not stop surging on pure adrennaline she jumped in the air, her foot catching him square in the chest with such force that it sent him spiraling through the window. Pete cried out as the glass caught him, cutting him wide open, he took his last breath.89

Diablo stood stunned as he witnessed his Fire's actions. He heard her cry and then she started falling when she saw Pete in a bloodied clump on the ground. He caught her before she hit the floor. 90

" It is over, darling." He crooned as he rocked her in his lap.91

" Durant is in the back room, He is hurt." Sapphire cried softly as he held her. She saw Diego pass them heading back to the other room. Diablo picked her up as she cried " I killed him." 92

" It was you or him, precious." Diablo spoke as the police officers walked inside. Diablo handed Sapphire to Thor asking him to take her out and get her wrists and ankles bandaged.93

Diablo spoke to the officers as Diego helped Durant walk out of the room.94

Durant filled in the pieces after he arrived of what he had saw and heard95

An hour later, Sapphire was on her way home. Diablo stared at the wrinkled wedding dress, so dirty and nasty from her days events. He crooned to her softly but she just sit in a far away place. 96

Sapphires mind was drifting relieving everything. She was so shook up, she did not even know if she would ever be the same she had taken the life of another human. How did you get passed the feeling of helplessness.97

Diablo carried Sapphire in the bar. She was worrying him, it was not like her to be so lost but she had been through a traumatic time. Emerald saw Diablo carrying her when he came in and sighed with relief.98

" Is she okay?" Emerald asked her as he sat down at the table with her on his lap.99

" I do not know." He answered honestly as she laid her head on his shoulders. " She hasn't talked since we found her besides telling us that Durant was hurt."100

" None at all?" Her mother asked him and he shook his head.101

" What happened?" Emerald questioned making Sapphire hear her mother.102

" Daddy met Pete in prison, and helped him escape. The plan was to kidnap me then take me to Texas and force me to marry Barry Davis. He got to keep the million dollar ransom money, plus kill Diablo."103

Emerald sighed as Diablo felt his gut tighten up making him so angry. He had to do something but He needed to get someone to watch Sapphire.104

Durant, Durango, and Diego came walking in with Thor. Sapphire looked at her mother. " Mama will you help me change. I am just getting married in blue jeans and a tee shirt."105

Diablo stared at her. " Do you still want to get married?" He asked her tenderly, making her smile softly.106

" You do have all your brothers here." Sapphire stated to him. " Did Lylah ever make it here?"107

" Yes, She made it she took care of your mother while we were searching for you."108

Sapphire looked at the bar to find Lylah talking to Thor. She had long lean legs, a very petite body and long flowing blond tresses. She turned around to walk away but was laughing at something Thor said and Sapphire noticed the way Lylah's blue eyes danced when she laughed, and her face was round but not with fat just a circular shape. Lylah was beautiful simply beautiful.109

Sapphire watched as Lylah walked towards them not knowing actually what to say to the beautiful justice of peace.110

" Hello, My name is Lylah Denton." She held her hand out to Sapphire. She accepted it. " Lylah nice to meet you." Sapphire told her as she stood up on weary legs. 111

" Can I help you do anything?" Lylah asked softly hoping to comfort Diablo's fiancee. 112

" You can come with me and mama. I will let you both help me pick out what I am going to wear because it is not going to be in this dress."113

Diablo stood up and then kissed her cheek. " I have an errand to run, I will be back in time to say I do." She giggled softly then left the room with the two women.114

" Durango, I would like for you to take me somewhere."115

Thirty minutes later, Diablo sat in a visiting room in the prison. A gaurd led Brand Mckay into the room. He was shackled at the wrists and feet.116

" I just wanted to let you know that Sapphire will be my wife tonight. Your little plan backfired Pete went belly up after the plate glass window cut him open."117

Brand no longer looked like the suave business man any longer, he looked like a worn weary man. " I do not know what you mean." Brand denied hotly but Diablo smiled " I am sure that you do not but Sapphire was wearing a tape recorder. She taped every word he said before she kicked him through the window. Your daughter is not only beautiful but smart. It will be a matter of days before the District Attorney will be bringing more indictments against you adding more time on your sentence."118

Brand looked scared for a second, but then spoke. " It does not matter, I will keep trying until someone takes her out."119

" I promise you the next time you try, I have a friend inside here. A man by the name of Manson Rhodes. He is doing life for killing the man who killed his thirteen year old daughter. He tortured him to death. I will come and see him. I will only have to mention the fact that you are trying to hurt your daughter, my wife and he will make you regret it for the rest of your life."120

Brand paled he had heard horror stories about the men in prison and so far none bothered him. He didnt need that, he would agree and live out his life.121

" I wont you have my word. I will leave you alone." Brand sighed softly122

" Your, soon to be Ex-wife is working for me, and she gave your house and company over to your son-in-law Bryant I think is his name. I do have the feeling that none of them are missing you."123

Brand looked defeated he would have not believed Diablo but he had heard of Manson Rhodes. He motioned for the gaurd, as Durango walked inside the room. " You took a chance didn't you brother?" 124

Diablo smirked at him. " Sapphire might not have taped Pete but he didn't have to know that."125

" I was talking about Manson Rhodes." Durango spoke quickly as they walked out of the prison.126

" I do know Manson Rhodes, I met him when I was investigating Pete all those years ago. I stumbled across his daughters death, and came to talk to him because she had similar looks like Maggie."127

" I did not know that." Durango spoke softly as they got into their vehicle.128

" Yes, I hate to say it but I liked Manson Rhodes, and if he came up for parole tomorrow I would give him a job." Diablo stated to him as he drove down the road.129

" I never met Manson Rhodes, but I heard exactly what he did to the man and I can't blame him a bit." Durango said as Diablo agreed with him.130

" He will be my children's godfather." Diablo informed him. " I do need to tell Sapphire about Manson."131

" Now let us get back, Durango. I am ready to get married."132

Durango chuckled " The first of the James boys to tie the knot."133
