Prologue1

TV Presenter After the revelation of the two leader’s deaths we have new information. The two were lovers, caught between spin and their parties, unable to love-2

Unable to wed. Even though they could, the parties would not allow:3

And so they were kept apart, but came together-4

For sake of sweetest romance, and these two-5

Caught in the cross lines of two opposing sides6

Are now dead. And with this lies the end.7

Scene One8

Martin We will destroy their party. We will win the election. 9

Andrew Discover the gentlemen of the party.10

Martin Destroy the others.11

Andrew And take the gent’s innocent lies.12

Martin Here they are now13

Enter Jon and Daniel. They argue. The next day, Daniel resigns.14

Jon Let’s just say we got a bit out of hand.15

Paul Was Anton there? Did he argue? Fight?16

Jon No. Anton wasn’t there, he’s alright. 17

Paul Where is he? I haven’t seen him for a while.18

Jon In a bar, I saw him last. Writing something. He seemed a little busy, I felt a bit uncomfortable- what with my taste in bars and his being so different. He seemed quite sad though. 19

Paul Last time we were in a bar together, he seemed sad too.20

Jon Must be the war, the public- you know how it is.21

Paul Well, maybe. But when I mention that. He wants to continue it you know?22

Jon Anyone else agree to it?23

Paul Well, only the one you know. 24

Jon Hey, see there, he’s comin’ this way. I’ll find out what’s t’matter with him.25

Paul leaves, leaving Jon and Anton alone together26

Jon What is it Anton?27

Anton I am in love. The one I love is beautiful. Has eyes like the sea, hair wizened with age. So strong, so rich, so beautiful. But, alas. I know there is no love there for me.28

Jon Why not? Is attraction not returned?29

Anton It isn’t that. My love has promised to God. Never to love a man again. Never to kiss, never to hold, never to make love to.30

Jon Ah. Well, do what I do when a lady doesn’t return it. Go out, get plastered, find another.31

Anton I will never find another. There is no other.32

Jon Then I swear to find your other, the lover who is right.33
