Tennessee Whiskey and Sapphire Dreams. Chapter 2

1

He paced the waiting room. She had been in the emergency room for over forty -five minutes. He heard his name being called and turned to find Thor, and Kobe walking up to him. “ The man is in police custody. He has turned Brand McKay in for leniency, if the district attorney will give him leniency.”2

They were still waiting two hours later when six richly dressed females and one older man walked into the waiting room. One of the women spoke. “ I am Diamond, Sapphire is my sister. Is there any word on her?” Diablo shook his head but when he looked at the man he felt hatred.3

“ You, Brand McKay?” Diablo questioned, standing up as he shook his shoulders trying to shake off the tension.4

“ Yes, I am. Who might you be?” The slim man with gray hair, and vibrant blue eyes stared at him. “ I am Diablo James, your future son in law, but I was wondering if you have told your wife, and daughters the real reason that your baby girl is laying in a hospital bed?”5

“ Diablo.” Kobe warned, but Diablo advanced on Brand, who was smartly dressed in an expensive business suit. “ Did you tell them that you hired a man to kidnap her to bring her home, and force her into marriage. A marriage she did not want.”6

The women stared at him, then turned looking at the man all of them had loved for many years.7

“ Did you tell him that he could have a little fun with her before he turned her over to you?” Diablo questioned as he stalked up to Brand. “ Did you know that he was going to rape her?” He thundered making Brand take a step back. “ Did you tell him to shoot her, because that is what he did?”8

“ Daddy, what is he talking about?” Diamond stared at her father. Brand shook his head in denial. “ I do not know.”9

“ You, Brand McKay, are a liar.” Diablo spit out as he poked the man in his chest. “Tommy Flask told the police that you hired him to kidnap, rape, and bring her home to you.” Diablo wanted to hurt Brand as much as he had hurt Sapphire. “ You paid him fifty-thousand dollars to harm your baby daughter, because she wanted to find love, and not live in an arranged marriage for the rest of her life.”10

Thor had come to stand beside his friend, knowing Diablo was hurting.11

“ Who do you think you are, Mr. James, to accuse me of such a dirty deed?” Brand McKay asked him softly. 12

“ I am accusing you, You bastard, because I am the only man who has ever known the true Sapphire, and the measures of her love.” Diablo cried, as tears streamed his face. He had not ever cried before, not when his mother died, but he could not stop. “ I could kill you with my bare hands, but that would only hurt her worse. The police on the other hand will probably prosecute you.”13

“ Sapphire loved you more than you will ever know, Brand.” Diablo grated as he wiped his eyes.14

“ It almost killed her today when you told her that she would regret crossing you.” He stared at her father.15

“ Little did she know that she truly might be killed by the hired hand of the only man she has ever loved before me.”16

“ Brand, did you do this to my baby?” Emerald McKay stared at her husband with pleading eyes.17

“Yes, I did it.” Brand snapped. “ The heathen had it coming. She did not deserve to live if she could not fill her end of the bargain.” He started to speak, but Diablo’s fist smashed in to his chin, and he sank to the floor. Two police officers had just walked through the door, picking him up, and placing him in handcuffs.18

“ I am sorry.” Diablo told Emerald and the other five women. He walked back and sat down with Thor following him. 19

“ Thank you, for bringing the truth out in the open to us.” Emerald spoke as she came to sit beside the three men. “ I am Emerald. You have met Diamond, and the other four are, Garnet, Opal, Topaz, and Pearl.”20

They talked trading stories about Sapphire until the doctor came walking out. He stopped in green scrubs and looked at them. “ Diablo James?” The young man asked as Diablo stood up. “ That is me.”21

   “ Sapphire is in stable condition. We had to operate to stop internal bleeding, in the process we had to remove her spleen, and we were able to remove the bullet.”22

“ Will she be all right?” He asked Dr. Samuels the nametag read.23

“ She should have no problem for a good recovery. She might experience temporary paralysis, but she should be fine with love and tender care.”24

His body shook with sobs of happiness. “ Can I see her?”25

“ Yes and She was not pregnant.” Dr. Samuels spoke softly. “ I will allow everyone a chance to see her.26

Diablo paused looking at Emerald McKay. “ Would you like to see her first?’27

“ No son, you go ahead. We will be right here waiting our turn.” She stated motherly, and he loved the small brown haired woman.28

He followed the doctor and found Sapphire hooked to machines. She looked so small lying in the big hospital bed. “ She has been given a sedative, but she will be in and out all night.” 29

Diablo looked at her flowing red hair spread out on the pillow, and fell in love once again.30

“ Darling, I am here. Kobe, Thor, Your mother, and all your sisters are in the waiting room ready to see you.” He caught her hand in his holding it to his lips. “ I told you every thing will be fine, and I meant it. I think we are going to have to postpone the wedding until you get out of the hospital. Thor is going crazy. We all cried like big babies, especially me.”31

Sapphire heard him talking but she hurt everywhere. She moaned and he kissed her hand again. Diablo heard the door open and looked up to find everyone he had just mentioned walk in to the room.32

“ The doctor said we could all come back for a few minutes.” Emerald spoke as she walked to her daughter’s bed. “ Baby, I am so sorry about this, and for the fact I never stood up for you.” She cried as she leaned over hugging her daughter.33

Sapphire heard each of her family member’s talk, except her father. She heard Thor promise to give her a tattoo and Kobe told her he would miss her cooking. She drifted but she continued to feel Diablo’s hand on hers.34

Diablo slept in a chair beside the bed. He had Thor and Kobe take Sapphire’s mother and sisters to his house for the rest of the night. Sapphire opened her eyes that morning to find Diablo sleeping in a chair. She tried to move but could not feel her legs. Diablo opened his eyes to find her awake.35

“ Hey beautiful.” He spoke seeing her move.36

“ Diablo, I can not feel my legs.” She told him frightened. He stood up coming to her, letting the rail down he sat on the bed.37

“ Dr. Samuels said you might experience temporary paralysis.” He said gently. “ It will all be fine.”38

Diablo held her hand, carressing it softly not to disturb the i.v in her hand. " I will take you home when you're ready to leave, and I will take care of you." He promised as he leaned over to kiss her forehead. He heard the door open and saw her mother standing at the door.40

" I will let you ladies have some time to talk. I am going home to shower." He stood up then leaned over the bed to kiss her tenderly.41

One week later, Diablo proud of himself for having everything ready for Sapphire's homecoming.42

He had realized that he loved her, and today he would tell her. Diablo found her sitting up in the wheelchair wearing a long blue dress.43

" Hello beautiful." He spoke as he walked up beside her. Sapphire smiled at him. " Hello yourself."44

" You about ready to leave this place?" He questioned her as he knelt down beside her chair.45

" I am ready to go home. They charged Daddy with conspiracy to kidnapping." She spoke softly, making Diablo take her hand in his.46

" I am sorry. I can not wait to take you home."47

" Diablo, You don't have to marry me, I know you never really wanted to marry anyone." She spoke as tears filled her eyes.48

He stood to his feet. " I do want to marry you." 49

She shook her head in denial. " No you didn't you just wanted to protect me. I am going home with mama." She declared making him stare at her in disbelief. " You don't love me, and I don't love you. It was just lust speaking through our bodies."50

Diablo knew she loved him the same as he did her, She was just running scared.51

" Fine, Sapphire, I am not arguing with you."52

Sapphire heard the footsteps leading away, and then the door slam. She sobbed softly. She loved him very much, but if he did not love her then she couldn't help it.53

" Hey" Her mother spoke softly. Sapphire was sobbing so hard she never heard her enter.54

 Diablo arrived back at Tennessee Whiskey in a mood. He stomped inside meeting Kobe and Thor.55

 " Where is Sapphire?" Thor asked him. Diablo stared at him. " On her way back to Texas."56

Thor watched Diablo making him wince at his tone.57

" You and Kobe run the bar. I'm outta here for awhile." Diablo stated as he went to the office and soon come back out with his harley keys in his hand. " I am going to the cabin." 58

He walked out of the club with tears in his eyes at the love that was lost, a passionate embrace shattered at the words she had spoken to him that morning.59

Sapphire stared out of the window as her mama packed her clothes.60

" Would you please tell me why you are leaving?"61

Emerald asked her baby daughter, knowing that she loved the handsome Diablo and that he loved her.62

" I am not going to stay, having Diablo wait on me hand and foot when I can't even walk. I may never get the use of my legs back. He should not have to live his life taking care of me. I mean I can not even make love to him anymore."63

 " Do you really believe that matters to him."64

Her mother questioned as she lowered herself to look her daughter in the eyes. " You really think that he would love you less because you cannot walk? He loves you for the only reason because your you." Emerald stared at her daughter hoping she was talking sense into her.65

 " Your right, mama, take me to him." She agreed as the doctor came through the door."66

  Diablo stared at the cabin. He had not been here in years. His mother had left it to him and his three brothers, but Thor had become the fourth owner when he loaned Diablo the money to open his establishment. He climbed off the black harley, and took off the helmet walking to the porch. It was only two hours from the club, but he loved it. He walked inside looking at the dust67

that had coated the place, it had been a long time since he had been here, but he just couldn't68

stay at the bar having Sapphire haunt him day and night. He would give her a month, and then he would go after her.69

  Emerald helped her daughter into the bar. The two men behing the bar stared at her, anger shone in their eyes. " Thought you were on your way back to Texas?" Thor spoke making Sapphire look at him. " I had a change of heart. The Boss man here?"  She stated softly as Thor shook his head.70

  " No, he took off a little bit ago." Kobe came out behind the bar. " Why did you do it?" He questioned her as he squatted to look at her. " Do you realize how much he did for your homecoming?" 71

  " No, What did he do?" She asked as tears filled her eyes again.72

 " You now have a chair lift to get in and out of the apartment. The entire apartment has been furnished for a woman. He went through hell, and what thanks does he get, nothing."73

  " I am sorry, please do not be mad at me. I just did not want him to have to put up with taking care of me if I do not get the use of my legs again." She cried as her mother patted her back.74

  Thor picked up the phone dialing it. He handed it to her. " Tell him, not us."75

  " Diablo." He spoke into the cellphone.76

  " I am at the bar." Sapphire cried making his gut wrench at her sobs.77

  " So what do I care. I don't love you, and you don't love me." He grated through clenched teeth remembering the hurt he felt when she had told him goodbye.78

  " Well good, if you do not care. I am going to let Thor give me a tatoo across my butt, and I am going to stay in the apartment just so you have to look at my crippled body." She screamed then slammed down the telephone.79

  Diablo stared at his phone for a minute, and then grabbed his helmet.80

   Thor chuckled " He will be back in one hour."81

" How do you know that?" Emerald looked at Thor in amazement. 82

" Sapphire just told him she would let me tattoo her backside." Thor chuckled again, making Kobe join in the laughter. " Diablo is going to drive like hell to get here before I get to look at one place he has only seen."83

Sapphire laughed making her mother join in the silliness.84

" Momma help me to the bed, and I have a temporary tattoo your going to put on me. I can't believe he gave up on me so easily." She shook her head, as Kobe spoke up " What makes you think that he gave up?"85

" He was going to let me leave for Texas." Sapphired argued making Kobe shake his head. " I know Diablo, He would have gave you a month."86

" What?" She looked at him. Kobe got a beer and sat on the barstool in front of her. 87

" I said Diablo would have given you a month, and then he would have stormed Texas until he found you bringing you back where you belong."88

" Now you tell me this." She sighed dramatically. " Come on, Mama, lets get going."89

" Where is she?" Diablo asked as he stomped back into the bar an hour later. He had driven like hell to get back for the little idiot that he loved let Thor tattoo her butt. He loved her sexy derierre the way it was already.90

" In her bed." Thor grunted as he wiped down glasses getting ready to open later that night.91

Diablo took the steps two at a time. He entered without knocking and strode to the room.92

He could hear them giggling, and opened the door finding Emerald setting beside her daughter.93

" Hello Diablo" Emerald spoke first as Sapphire stared at him, memorizing every detail of his handsome face.94

" Hello, Em." He sat the helmet he was still carrying on the table and proceeded to the bed. He sat down and took Sapphire's hand in his.95

" May I please talk to your lovely daughter alone for a minute?" His eyes never leaving hers.96

" Yes, I will go have a chat with Thor and Kobe." She kissed her daughter, and then left the room.97

" Did you do it?" He questioned her, and she smiled at him so he did care.98

" If you mean the tattoo. I told you I would." 99

He pulled her over gently yanking the covers away, and pulling up her soft blue night gown. He saw the tattoo on her butt, and felt his fury. He hit her backside with her open hand spanking her as if she was a child. Sapphire stared at him because she actually felt the pain, and tears welled in her eyes from happiness not from pain. 100

Diablo saw the tears, and felt like a jerk, but heard her say. " Please do that again."101

He sat stunned then brought his hand down again on her derierre. " I can feel it." She spoke in awe.102

He pulled her against him, her tears fell upon the softness of his shirt.103

He raised her chin, kissing her with the fever burning him since the last time her had touched her. His tongue waltzed with hers the lovers tango, a beat of their own, as their souls united once again as one. He stopped to push his boots off, and then laid on the bed with her capturing her lips one more time. He pulled her on top of him. She could feel the desire through the denim jeans. 104

" I need you, My Sweet Diablo" She cried against his lips. He started shedding his clothes and then removed her nightgown.. He laid back letting her on top. He wanted to see her eyes when she fell over the orgasmic brink. Sapphire started the rhythm, moving slowly against him. She savored each stroke from his glorious manhood. She loved him with every fiber of her being..105

Diablo felt his body building with the desire, a desire so strong that it could stand the test of time.106

He held her for a long time after their glorious reunion of souls. Diablo stood, dressing again. Then helped her to her feet. Sapphire stood as he helped her dress in a pair of shorts and a tee shirt. 107

" I love you do not ever forget it." He whispered as he kissed her lips.108

Sapphire smiled at him. " I love you too and by the way that tatoo is a fake."109

Diablo felt his face turn crimson as he helped her take a step, and slowly she was able to move. 110

" What do you mean a fake?" he questioned as they slowly reached the door111

" I mean it is temporary. Do you honestly think that I would let Thor touch my butt.." She started giggling as he stared at her.112

" MY Fire, I will get even with you." He smirked slowly making her blood boil not from anger but the passion that lies with in the man. Her man.113
